(THREAD) I'm doing a live reading of FIRE AND FURY in this thread, offering some analysis of just a few short passages that seem of importance to the Trump-Russia investigation specifically or the Trump presidency generally.
The consensus of all the journalists on the Sunday round table shows is that all of them have talked to republicans in the house, senate and staff in the WH and virtually every single one of these republican politicians will tell exactly the same stories about Trump as Wolff did, as long as they are off the record. He's stupid, he's incompetent, he doesn't read and is barely able to follow along in a conversation about policy, he gets bored by policy and quickly shifts to stories about himself etc.
Yeah, good and well, and Trump supporters (including the NeverTrumpers) will still end up saying "oh well".
It's how Wolff characterizes the press, AFAIK ignores or whitewashes Russia, etc.
Hey, WIkileaks just released the book for free - anything to get in Putin's favor, or another sign "information must be free",, as in beer, not speech.
Comments
Wolff's false narrative, by Sarah Kendzior
Abramson as well notes Wolff accepting some pretty dubious bullshit at face value. He also notes the 2nd half of the book being very very dull.
