Scott Brown's mistake was letting it slip beforehand how he planned to weasel out of debating Elizabeth Warren: "The Senate ate my homework."
The debate took place after all, with a few more scheduled. If Brown skips a future one, Warren should do the empty-chair trick.
As you say, don't ever go down any dark alleys with Harry Reid.
