The Securities and Exchange Commission, supposed to be the 'cop' of Wall Street, has been destroying evidence it has collected in investigations that were preliminary in nature, but which may have, if retained, helped rein in illegal activities that later led to fraud, financial collapse or crimes. A whistleblower has been relating the possibly illegal destruction of federal records in testimony to the Senate.
