Seth Abramson notes those who misleadingly leaked key FBI internal info to influence an election, like Giuliani, Jim Kallstrom, Joe DiGenova were never never named or investigated, much less punished and fired (or taunted and threatened on Twitter).
I'm wondering whether he can sue Trump for those taunts - seemingly beyond the normal prerogatives of a president and more like the harrassment of a boss.
McCabe can still collect his pension at age 60, as per FBI benefit rules on 20+ years service, leave before age 50.
As a return gift for his GOP pre-birthday present today, he could recoup some of the lost pension money, perhaps more even, if he writes a book on the last year or two, titles? LAWLESS, The Presidency of Donald Trump...?
A Democratic lawmaker on Saturday offered to hire former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe in an effort to help McCabe qualify to receive his pension after being fired from the agency two days before he qualified to receive it.
Rep. Mark Pocan (D-Wis.) was responding to a tweet from NBC’s Andrea Mitchell, who said the former FBI official might still be able to receive his pension if he’s hired by a member of Congress.
“Andrew call me. I could use a good two-day report on the biggest crime families in Washington, D.C.,” Pocan tweeted [....]
I'm totally ok with it. Either his behavior was so egregious that he deserved it, which I doubt. Or it was vindictive undeserved punishment of a massive proportion. That will piss off many in the FBI and make them more likely to take on Trump. And as NCD mentioned, make it more likely McCabe will write a tell all book.

Andrew McCabe, the former FBI deputy director who was fired Friday night, has met with special counsel Robert Mueller's team and has turned over memos detailing interactions with President Trump, according to a source familiar with the exchange.
McCabe's interview with Mueller's prosecutors apparently included what he knows about former FBI director James Comey's firing.
The bottom line: The memos include corroboration by McCabe of Comey's account of his own firing by Trump, according to the source.
Rep. Charlie Dent said Saturday that Andrew McCabe's firing by Attorney General Jeff Sessions late Friday "looks like retribution and a bit vindictive" — warning that the upheaval engulfing the Trump White House will create a "five-alarm fire" for Republicans "down ballot" this November.
"This firing looks a bit forced, a bit rushed," Dent, the Pennsylvania Republican who chairs the House Ethics Committee, told Victor Blackwell on CNN. "Candidly, it looks like retribution and a bit vindictive.
"I think it's unfortunate.
"The man said he was resigning, and on a Friday night, before his 50th birthday, he's fired to take away his pension," he said. "I don't like the optics of this." [....]
Who cares what he says? He chairs the House Ethics Committee - what's he going to do about it? The answer is nothing - like others who are retiring after their current term, he's free to speak but apparently not to act.
Perhaps I should have written, "Who cares about who cares what he says?" ... newly freed Republicans are becoming a dime a dozen and worth just about as much.
If the White House is not just digging their own graves, they must be able to move faster than other people's reactions. The last line of the Vox article wraps the sandwich to go:
Curcio, an evidence professor and former litigator, said the timing of McCabe’s firing — just two days before his pension vests — could create a showdown if the matter ends up in court. “[It] sets up a great cross examination if McCabe’s testimony is unfavorable to the Trump administration,” she said. “The loss of his pension as a motivating factor for any unfavorable testimony now becomes fertile ground for a withering cross examination.”
When shooting yourself in the foot, never forget to tap both of them.

Oh, I think he can make much more suing a vindictive boss. Perhaps even a personal lawsuit, we'll see.
