Too many people are grieving the devastating loss of a loved one due to COVID—many of whom were forced to die alone. It shouldn’t have to be that way. On day one, @JoeBiden and I will act to get this virus under control and save American lives.
The situation in our hospitals is very serious. Six weeks ago, we had 200 #coronavirus-related hospitalizations in Nebraska. This week, hospitalizations stand at 860 and they are rapidly rising every day.
So far, we have been able to provide hospital beds, ICU beds, and ventilators to anyone who needs care. If trends continue, Nebraska will reach a point where that’s no longer possible.
"Sorry TX, Denver and AZ. Apparently NM and WY are also full. And Alaska is being transported to Seattle (and insurance won't pay anyway); upper WI full:
Just in case you’ve let your guard down, I thought you should know emergency physicians are literally crowdsourcing COVID beds on social media while hospital administrators are home sleeping. (1/2) pic.twitter.com/ipc2Bb7Jh2
Sorry TX, Denver and AZ. Apparently NM and WY are also full. And Alaska is being transported to Seattle. No one wants to accept transfers across state lines because Medicaid is state-specific and private insurance also won’t pay. And docs are NOT getting paid $2K/pt to do this. pic.twitter.com/W7dxyFiAAg
I just went into the CBD for a meeting. It was very quiet (apart from the queue for testing) and a large proportion of businesses are shuttered. It’s really tough for them. https://t.co/OQ6viklrKo
Chicago has issued a 30-day stay-at-home advisory as coronavirus cases rise, encouraging residents to stay home and only leave for school, work or other essential needs https://t.co/pyfPk7Rrva
"'We’re asking you to avoid any non essential travel. And if you must travel, then you must either quarantine for 14 days, or depending upon the state confirm a negative COVID test before coming back,” said Mayor Lori Lightfoot. “You must cancel the normal Thanksgiving plans, particularly if they include guests that do not live in your immediate household.'" — CBS News
The president is AWOL under fire: he's abandoned any pretense of working to help protect Americans from an accelerating threat. Republicans in Congress are silent as he nurses grievances & spin fantasies but ignores the mounting toll. As Bob Dole would say: where's the outrage? https://t.co/43lQbjU0dU
Something extremely bogus is going on. Was tested for covid four times today. Two tests came back negative, two came back positive. Same machine, same test, same nurse. Rapid antigen test from BD.
When Musk posts on twitter I take it seriously because of his long history of brilliant rational comments there. Is it possible the problems were caused by the nurse being a pedophile?
I just used the pedo insult because it's a well known example. When that story broke I read many other angry stupid tweets he made. He's pretty much an ass on twitter.
Even I'm an ass on Twitter (maybe here as well). My luxury of posting anon.
Yes, Elon has the emotional development of a 12-year-old, but is doing great things.
In contrast to so many of our 12-year-old leaders and celebrities who aren't doing great things,
sometimes even evil things.
Actually his Tweets outside his realm are rather few and far between.
It's just media likes amplifying whatever.
Most CEO's are boring as, er, uck-fay, even when they do and say lots of stupid it-shay.
US exceptionalism: “Across much of Europe, governments are keeping classrooms open while forcing restaurants and bars to shut their doors. But in some American cities, officials have opted to keep students home even as dining rooms bustle with customers” https://t.co/q6ku2GV4V4
Sure, screw the kids, little whiners. They'll only try occupying their parents couch for 15 more years, when we were out buying real estate at their age. This'll show em. And cut their healthcare while you're at it - they should be out working more, builds character.
There are 67,096 Covid patients hospitalized; 12,796 in ICU; more than 3,600 on ventilators. Healthcare resources are more vulnerable than prior Covid waves because the wide distribution of infection means It’ll be hard to surge resources into hot zones because there are so many. pic.twitter.com/ovkohJCaB4
^ translation of this Dr.-Gottlieb-speak: looking like lots of people are going to suffer and die shortly while the medical system partially collapses in many U.S. areas
"You know what's uncomfortable? When you die," NJ Governor Phil Murphy snapped during a press conference when asked about residents complaining that wearing masks was annoying.
Al I can say is thank God this isn’t the generation we need to invoke the draft, food and gas rations, and a US wide curfew... all for the common good. Can’t even get folks to wear a mask.
BREAKING: Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak said he has tested positive for COVID-19 as the virus surges to record levels in his state and across the nation. The Democrat is the fifth governor to report testing positive for the virus this year. https://t.co/U1G5BitqSP
Gov. Andrew Cuomo hit back at President Donald Trump today after he threatened to withhold a forthcoming Covid-19 vaccine from New Yorkers, calling the president incompetent, delusional and retaliatoryhttps://t.co/cfjYKc65aD
NEW: Chilling video of El Paso jail inmates hired to move bodies of #COVID19 deceased patients into mobile overflow morgues. Inmates wear full PPEs & paid $2/hour. They’ve been doing this tough work since Monday, before El Paso increased to 10 mobile morgues. I cry for El Paso. pic.twitter.com/KgQBpzD1mZ
6) And then there is sadly this horrifying testimonial of what is happening at an El Paso hospital (UMC El Paso), according to traveling nurse. This video is real. Details in https://t.co/yUmBeGIlfy
7) I’m just an epidemiologist who been doing updates a long time, but we often get lost in statistic & forget each body is a person & love one & a life lost. Our doctors & nurses can only do this for so long before they even start to crumble from PTSD. I’m worried for our HCWs.

The Thai guy was being a jerk.
Would've been a normal insult if Elon weren't a high profile billionaire.
But no, nothing outside if tech that Elon says is worth banking on.

Elon does do great things, but keeping his mouth shut on things outside his realm isn't one of them.
