BUKAVU, Democratic Republic of Congo (Reuters) - Armed men have raped 60 people in eastern Congo in the last ten days, the latest in a spate of mass sexual attacks in the region, the United Nations said Friday....
"This is no longer a crisis, its becoming a culture," said Nene Rukunghu, a doctor working at the Panzi hospital which specialises in helping rape victims.
She said rapes by civilians appeared to be on the rise, adding: "People ask, 'why do the rebels come and rape us?' And they start to think it makes them strong so they copy them."....
