Partly true, as discussions in East Bay go re: green space vs. new affordable housing.
But San Francisco itself is a mess of dereliction - nobody really has a plan to clean up the nasty streetlife that tends to be quite awkward say for tourists - it's also "Why We Can't Have Nice Things" w/o really knowing why it's caused, just that it's there. kinda everywhere.
