I've never liked the "controlling women's bodies" line.
It's much more ruining women's lives to give a free pass to irresponsible men, even while more and more acknowledging how women have lacked power through most of our history. Stanford swimmer rapes a drunk girl by a dumpster, and the judge is most worried about ruining his career. Yes, there's a budding little brat in her womb and he's gonna go dick around and get paid big bucks for being a talented asshole, and she gets to clean up his shit. Even Albert fucking Einstein threw over his wife/mother of his children for her sister, and had she complained too much she would've lost whatever stipend he deigned to give her. I'm all for drowning fetuses in ponds up to the 4th or 5th month - who gives a shit - they're basically worms or frogs up to that point, and these motherfuckers already showed they don't care about "life" by railing against masks and vaccines and other common sense modern science - just a bunch of throwback Noah's Ark level idiots who skipped evolution while the rest of the world went through the Enlightenment and Industrial Revolution and Internet Age. Clarence "suck my stupidly conservative dick" Thomas doesn't even believe in access to contraception - that stupid vindictive motherfucker should've been snuffed out by week 5 to make sure his noxious ideas never breathed. But no, someone gave birth to the dickhead, and now crazed lunatic antediluvian fringe nutheads give sustenance to his whackjob takes on "jurisprudence" as if what happened in the fucking Middle Ages defines modern law (you too, Alito, you piece of shit with all the intellectual capacity of a crustacean that barely made it out of the sea - no need for cerebellum in that line of losers, just pre-reptilian brain whose judicial "opinions" read like a worse satire of Jonathan Swift, with all the lack of modernity and strange superstition that requires).
Yeah, somewhere someone actually cares about "the children", but the ones who fight better standards & support for birth & pre-natal care and insurance to pay for that "miracle of birth", for children's healthcare, for taxes to pay for good public schools, for gun laws to keep kids from shooting each other up, to keep young kids from being raped by priests and whatever predator of the week, or just the basic "Do Unto Others" morality that every fucking church i was in had until Falwell's immoral majority taught these peckerheads to be angry bitter shitshaming venemous judges of the rest of the world, always ready with their handful of first stones to sling. Jesus washed a prostitute's feet, you bunch of warmed over pagan troglodytes - you can't even get the basics out of a book written for people supposedly more primitive than you 2000 years ago. Saw an animal shelter tweet, & got to thinking/googling: each year roughly 3 million cats & dogs are adopted, and 3 million are put to sleep, with 70 million strays on the street (cat adoption is a lot lower than for dogs). And animals are lot cheaper & easier to deal with than kids.
5 states make up half the kills - Texas, California, Florida, North Carolina, and Georgia. Expect a lot of sympathy from these for unwanted babies (Georgia & NC at 10m population each are really punching above their weight for euthanizing critters)
