For real though, this is how racial sectarianism works. You chop people up into these classifications then hand out prizes in zero sum games, it breeds resentment and hatred. That's why it's hard to argue you can defeat racism without getting rid of race.
The majority of Americans KNOW up close and personal that affirmative action in college admissions breeds resentment, they see the resentment in friends and relatives if not personally impacted.
