EXCLUSIVE: Trump has suggested to aides he wants to pardon himself in the final days of his presidency, a move that would mark one of the most extraordinary and untested uses of presidential power in American history. w/@maggieNYThttps://t.co/ebeJrQEAER
Before it becomes a test of power, is it even an idea?
There is the idea of forgiving oneself. It applies to matters one perhaps should not excoriate oneself for if the matter is some kind of circle of fault that only concerns your own judgment.
But once you have offended other people enough to be charged with wrongdoing, the only relief from it can only come from other people.
People being considered for pardons on January 19, per Bloomberg:
— Donald Trump
— Mark Meadows
— Stephen Miller
— John McEntee
— Dan Scavino
— Ivanka Trump
— Jared Kushner
— Rudy Giuliani
— Kimberly Guilfoyle
— Albert Pirro
— Lil Wayne
