“The President of the United States has taken something that does not belong to him — the memory of my dead wife — and perverted it for perceived political gain.
As much as I have appreciated the kindness shown by old friends and colleagues today, I assure you that my family is incredibly blessed and asks only that you pray for Lori’s family tonight. May God also soften the hearts of those who continue to slander this good woman’s memory.
Trump expected to sign executive order that could threaten punishment against Facebook, Google and Twitter over allegations of political bias https://t.co/R6d6Fk9FMO

Absolutely what's going on. And he's got nothing here, no power. I am interested, though, in how the affected parties react, whether they feed the troll and the distraction or manage a way out.
Fact check: there is someone ultimately accountable for our actions as a company, and that’s me. Please leave our employees out of this. We’ll continue to point out incorrect or disputed information about elections globally. And we will admit to and own any mistakes we make.
This does not make us an “arbiter of truth.” Our intention is to connect the dots of conflicting statements and show the information in dispute so people can judge for themselves. More transparency from us is critical so folks can clearly see the why behind our actions.
Per our Civic Integrity policy (https://t.co/uQ0AoPtoCm), the tweets yesterday may mislead people into thinking they don’t need to register to get a ballot (only registered voters receive ballots). We’re updating the link on @realDonaldTrump’s tweet to make this more clear.
Jack is apparently partly addressing something Zuckerberg said to Fox News:
Talking to Fox News, Zuckerberg knocks Twitter for fact-checking Trump, says private companies shouldn't be “the arbiter of truth” https://t.co/RifPZxwITl
BREAKING: Trump says he's signing an executive order to limit social media companies legal protections after Twitter began selective fact checks of his posts https://t.co/CbuUTWzxYJ
To the extent that this order survives the inevitable tsunami of legal challenges AND the FCC and FTC actually choose to act on it, it could turn into yet another instance of Trump stepping on his own dick. https://t.co/LY0Ms3qFMl

I am sure somebody smarter than me has noticed this but isn't Trump in danger of cutting off the limb he crouches upon? If I had a company facing a direct executive order to do this or that, I would pull the plug on the whole thing.
