Joe Biden made a good part of his career by being the tough on crime guy in the 80s and 90s, and barely makes any reference to cities like Trenton, Memphis, STL, Los Angeles and others seeing huge surges in homicides this year.

Sometime around the mid-00s it was decided that if people are dying but it's not the police doing the killing, it just doesn't matter? It would be racist to be concerned about homicide, etc. I'm not exaggerating, this is how a big part of the NGO world thinks now.

In fact people who live in these places are usually quite vocal about the toll of assault/theft/homicide/abuse on their communities, it's the larger liberal class that doesn't care about people it claims to represent.
