US builds criminal cases in interest rate-fixing scandal

The real story here rests with the MSNBC sub-headline carried with this NYT article: "Prospect of charges could push financial institutions to settle with authorities."
In an era where JPMorgan Chase can LOSE over $7.5 billion (estimated) in bad trading and STILL see their shares grow by 6%, there simply ain't a monetary fine or penalty big enough that can even BEGIN to dissuade these Wall Street thugs from their criminal activities.
The only way to get the attention of these criminals is to take them off the street and into a jail cell. But will anyone from Wall Street do jail time? Can Obama and his Justice Dept. grow a pair big enough to bite the hand that feeds our political system by throwing some of these thugs in jail? Stay tuned.
