Racial and ethnic preferences are still incredibly unpopular
Gender, race/ethnicity, and legacy are Americans' least valued factors for college admissions and high school grades and standardized test scores are their most valued factors: https://t.co/NMGMXJ9k3Tpic.twitter.com/DGyvMANta1

It's only common sense that a university would not treat one better than the other based on the color of his skin.
I think too many liberals in "blue cities" have the idea that the rest of the country doesn't have the same mix of people they do. As they venture out into 'flyover' looking for lower rents, they might be surprised that their presumptions about many places are a couple decades behind.
A pattern I'm noticing more often, which HAS to contribute to "racial reckoning" mutual hostilities, is that many young Black/POC kids genuinely do not know affirmative action exists- and in fact believe they are unfairly held to a higher standard during (say) college admissions.
(2) This has been documented several times. In "Mismatch," Sander & Taylor (2012) find that 65% of Black Americans think a Black kid would be LESS ikely to get into a top college than a white kid w identical marks and scores...while just 4-5% thought he would be more likely to.
for all the racial identitarians out there who think forgiveness of student debt will solve many ills:
"Thus, fully forgiving student debt, would reduce the White-Black wealth gap by $4,600, or 0.6%, and increase the White-Latino wealth gap by $2,300, or 0.3%."https://t.co/uH2lv69RkS

Wow, Asian dropped from 66 to 42 - may just be poor sampling.
