Chris Smalls, fired from Amazon almost two years ago to the day, just popped champagne outside the NLRB offices where he and his peers won one of the greatest labor victories in a generation. “To the first Amazon union in history,” he said. pic.twitter.com/ZHNcjFC5N1
That @AOC responded immediately to Krystal Ball (a media commentator), but didn’t respond to Christian Smalls (who led the actual organizing effort) should effectively seal the deal on the form of politics she represents. https://t.co/hCJU9n7w5O
Not 1 member of the squad showed up. They all ghosted Chris. & this wasn’t just another event. It was the most substantial worker led organizing effort at one of the most powerful companies in the world. They all had excuses? For all the many months of this organizing drive?
Very bizarre to observe internet weirdos defending AOC against the actual union organizer who helped spearhead the Amazon union drive in Staten Island. Really begs the question, which side are you on?
AOC canceled on Amazon union activists when needed her telling them she's not doing public appearances anymore. A few weeks later she appeared at the *Met gala* and never got back to them. Now she's bandwagoning since they've been successful
Amazon Union Organizer on AOC's lack of support for the drive, "She went radio silent for 6 months...and didn't show a word of support for us until it was clear we were going to win." @JordanChariton ON-THE-GROUND following the Amazon Union VICTORY pic.twitter.com/DI2QvWTmha
If you’re actually attacking Christian Smalls for calling AOC out, you’re siding with a politician over one of the most effective labor organizers in New York State. I would burn a communist manifesto before I would do that you weird online fucking simps

If AOC doesn't give a fuck about workers' outside her district why does she ask workers outside her district to donate to her?

"Hell No, she don't deserve this moment," @Shut_downAmazon responds to whether he has a message for AOC who workers told @statuscoup flaked on them and wouldn't show support for their union drive pic.twitter.com/W6RtkGbA6G
If Saagar and Susan Sarandon are clownplaining, maybe it wasn't a problem (is Bernie evil too?). Met Gala was 7 1/2 months ago for this curious. And it didn't seem like AOC was trying to take credit, but who knows.
The warehouse isn’t in my district and maybe you should look at a map before claiming so. One scheduling conflict aside, we have requested oversight investigations into Amazon, met with Amazon workers in the Woodside warehouses, and more. Hope you do more due diligence next time.
I just think it is what it is, it's there, it's a division that's happened.
(I think you misunderstand the complaint about the Met Gala, that was at the same time they asked for her to be involved and supportive and they feel she did not and did not think highly of their potential. And now they are basically crowing that they knew how to do it and she did not. And they feel she wants to take credit for what they did despite her negativity. I do agree with a complaint I saw elsewhere that bartending and waiting tables for small business is not the same thing as a working class job and if that's your only experience, you don't truly know the other kind of life. I know, I did it for many years, it paid for my education, and I got close to many people in it and know it's not at all the same thing, it's actually quite entrepreneurial.)
I've worked in a warehouse - briefly - very much prompted me to get out ASAP. Degrading, overwhelming, feeling of being trapped, exhausting.... Yes, I realized there was ambiguity on her Met timing, whether at beginning of effort 6 months ago or final push. They're complaining about Bernie as well, which might mean too much expectations or both needed to pitch in on the union side if it makes up such a big part of their pitch. And I don't know how insufferabe the main organizing group is.
Wow, @Shut_downAmazon did a great job on Tucker Carlson. He pivoted immediately to bread-and-butter issues and a broad defense of union rights and didn't take any of the bait. https://t.co/A7olsBfvak
I note AOC is showing up with Bernie on Staten Island, trying to make amends, set things right (previously she gave the excuse that Staten Island wasn't her district!)
The workers @amazonlabor are taking on the most powerful company in America and one of the wealthiest men on the planet. @aoc and I are on Staten Island to stand with them. https://t.co/QvkR4a3JJF
“If you can go to space you can give your workers a bathroom break,” she says at the @amazonlabor rally ahead of the second unionization vote starting tomorrow. pic.twitter.com/2nyC6QKWxd

Still unsure, but a rather pro-Danziger article to counter bribery & other charges:

A shame Lulu wouldn't bother a real discussion rather than a broad-brush kill the messenger approach.
