There is a much longer, more sophisticated, complex and detailed, personalized long version of the meme in George Packer's piece for The Atlantic, which I read last week:
Highly recommended, as is nearly always the case with anything Packer writes. The Atlantic is now on a model with a paywall after a certain number of articles; this one is definitely worth using up one of your chits, especially if you're a parent in a big city.
