I'm coining "hustile work environment(tm)" - I expect to retire on this little turn of a phrase.
I do greatly object to tossing in Elon Musk as an example - his 3 ventures are more like world-changing moonshots, not just getting a new app or latte out the door, and he largely shares the pain of his employees as push comes to shove.
Otherwise, "internet serfing" is the new normal.
