I do not think this photo is altered very much. One relative in the Santa Monica area texted photos last night of the sky over the mountains already looking nearly like this one.

Hotels across the Westside — from the Huntley in Santa Monica and the Waldorf Astoria in Beverly Hills to the new No. 850 in West Hollywood — tell The Hollywood Reporter that the Woolsey Fire diaspora are filling them to capacity. A quarter of a million people were under evacuation orders on Friday, including the entire city of Malibu as well as parts of Calabasas, Hidden Hills, Agoura, Thousand Oaks and Topanga Canyon [....]

Day 3: Camp Fire most destructive in state history

PARADISE — Firefighters made some progress overnight to establish control of the Camp Fire in Butte County, which is already the most destructive wildfire in state history.

The amount of acreage burned increased to 100,000 acres but containment jumped from 5 percent to 20 percent. With 6,713 structures burned, including 6,453 homes and much of the town of Paradise, it supplanted the Tubbs Fire in wine country last year that burned 5,636 structures as the most destructive.

Nine fatalities have been confirmed, including five who burned in cars while trying to escape the fast-moving flames.

Now firefighters are concerned about protecting the city of Oroville.

An evacuation warning was upgraded Saturday to an order for Oro Quincy Highway from Forbestown Road east to Mountain House. That includes the communities of Berry Creek, Brush Creek, Mountain House and Bloomer Hill [....]
