The Crisis of Addiction - Childhood Trauma and a Corrupt Culture

I have posted stuff from Academy of Ideas before. This one is great.

I recently got rid of my social media accounts and the way in which I did it had all the extremes of ending an addiction. I created a password that I couldn't ever remember, set the account to be permanently shut down and then I ended it. I essentially locked myself out of it. It had become a compulsive use over the years and, unlike watching videos on YouTube or writing here on Dagblog, I realized it was something I compulsively used that brought quite literally nothing but misery in to my life. I didn't even enjoy using it. I'm hoping that the larger society locks itself out of social media too.
