The Bishop and the Butterfly: Murder, Politics, and the End of the Jazz Age

La Ronde

The media are projecting dem losses when the newly elected republican governors preside over the redistricting.

Maybe not.

Mostly we've lost the State Houses where we had very few representatives to protect. Conversely there's an encouraging list of battleground states which had Republican governors in 2001 and will have a dem this time.

Alphabetically they're: Arkansas, Conn.,Illinois,Mass.,Minnesota (Jesse in 2001)New York, and West Virginia.

At the very least this cohort of new dem governors should be able to minimize any degredation from the existing configuration  installed under a republican predecessor.

And as for the mostly southern states where there's been a switch from a dem in 2001 to a rep now. Like who cares? You can't lose what you never had.

The report of our imminent demise from redistricting is either wishfull thinking or bad math.
