If it makes anyone feel better, as the chart shows, the old and rich will poorer soon enough. The super old and super rich will be much richer, however. Though likely dead.
Given the subsequent impoverishment chiefly revealed its illusory nature, and the apparent wealth of the over -75s might seem less fabulous if ,say, the richest 2% were isolated - possibly the real conclusion is that everyone else is poorer since 2008.
Most Americans already pay wealth taxes, in fact. Property taxes! That's a wealth tax!
