VIDEO: Glenn Beck says volunteering is a communist conspiracy, and other observations

Glenn Beck, America's favorite blathering talk show host, takes the time to discuss the evils of volunteerism.  No, that's not a typo, in a painful 6 minutes he points out that Hollywood, the Obama Administration, and the media are trying to make people "work for free" by encouraging them to volunteer.  He then points to Chairman Mao, who is in studio btw, and comments on how the push to get Americans volunteering is communist.

The more and more I watch Glenn Beck the more he makes me uncomfortable.  Not with his opinions, but in how he delivers them.  He straddles the line between playful and sarcastic, but does neither of these things very well.  He's like watching a really bad actor try to deliver an insightful monologue.  Like when he cries:

Glenn "Captain Trying Way Too Hard" Beck is like a car wreck, you can't help but look.  At least he's smooth with the ladies:

Why do you think they call it the RED Cross? Because they're commies!

Beck's opposition to the volunteer campaign may seem nuts--ok, it is nuts--but there is method to the madness. Notice the comment at 1:25 - "Are we creating a problem that doesn't exist to have an emergency that doesn't yet exist, or is it just a coincidence that all of this falls into line with President Obama's Corporation for National & Community Service?" Beck believes that Obama is planning to initiate some kind of national emergency in order to justify a commie-fascist revolution and that CNCS volunteers will be the brownshirts who round up the opposition. Check parts 2 & 4 of my Beck post for details.
