Taking a cue from many of his Miss Universe contestants Trump comes out in favor of world peace.
Q: What would be the best deal you could negotiate as president of the United States?
A: Peace all over the world would be the best deal. And I think I would know how to do it better than anybody else, but peace all over the world.

With its own version of a powerful troika of cross-state networks combining policy research, legislative orchestration, and public advocacy across dozens of states, the American left would become much more able to elect and support progressive politicians at all levels of government. As the US right well understands, that sort of combined clout across the states is what it takes to move the needle in American politics and public policy. As liberals continue to relearn through hard experience, capturing the presidency and operating in Washington, DC — is simply not enough.
Programmed Outrage no longer paying the way it did. Maybe too many options...
There's also a great picture of him with Putin (and Putin is listening to him attentively.)

The problem inherent in generational politics is that young people grow up. This is what makes winning their votes so difficult, and so unlike appealing to other demographics. There is little time to build networks, develop ideologies, or select leaders. With so much turnover, once a young generation gets organized politically, it’s not young anymore.
"Lastly, I’d like to say to Mr. and Mrs. Khan: thank you for immigrating to America,” McCain said in closing his statement. “We’re a better country because of you. And you are certainly right; your son was the best of America, and the memory of his sacrifice will make us a better nation – and he will never be forgotten.
Washington (CNN)Donald Trump said Sunday that Russian President Vladimir Putin won't make a military move into Ukraine -- even though Putin already has done just that, seizing the country's Crimean Peninsula.
"He's not going into Ukraine, OK, just so you understand. He's not going to go into Ukraine, all right? You can mark it down. You can put it down.
Sanders failed to draw a critical percentage of black and Hispanic voters away from Clinton in the primaries... but perhaps more importantly it's because his platform couldn’t address their unique concerns without subsuming race and racism in the class rhetoric of "democratic socialism." This much is clear: For a lasting movement to rise from the ashes of the Sanders campaign, it would have to make huge inroads into the establishment’s black base. Creating a movement seriously and convincingly committed to the cause of anti-racism would be a good start. Sanders couldn’t convince black voters that he could offer them more than the establishment. The most common postmortem of the Sanders campaign goes like this: Bernie tore through Iowa and New Hampshire by galvanizing young, disaffected white liberals, but then he hit the South, and there, black voters sank him.
NYT: Four cases of Zika infection in Miami are highly likely to have been caused by infected mosquitoes, the state Department of Health said Friday — the first documented instance of local transmission in the continental United States......funding? NBC: New funding for Zika remained deadlocked in Congress as the long July 4 weekend starts, although President Barack Obama made another demand for the money he's been asking for since February.
Good ol' Maggie & May...
As Britain swears in its 2nd female Prime Minister, and countries like Bangladesh, India and Ireland have had female leaders for a period of 20 years, the US finds itself far behind the top in lowering the gender gap in representation. 52 countries have managed what we've yet to do, elect a female leader. Of course the Brits reign suppreme - besides Maggie Thatcher & Theresa May (not to be confused with stripper Teresa May**), or British Cuz also's had 2 Queen Elizabeths and 1 Victoria that pretty well spanked the planet (your call whether in the right places or not). Perhaps it's easier in a Parliamentary system - for us, we've only had 1 woman who's ever won a primary or caucus, much less earn a party nomination. Presumably it will get easier, but that's a big presume - kinda what we said 8 years ago, and so far, not a lot of new female contenders in the mix. No one else look good in a pants suit? "Ms. President" - is it really so hard to say? You'd think it was "Mrs. Robinson" - heaven holds a place for those who pray - hey hey hey, hey hey hey.

**And yes, for your eddyfication, the non-Prime Minister Teresa May:

Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney joined those critics in a post on Facebook, calling it “disqualifying” for a nominee to a major party not to release returns. “Tax returns provide the public with its sole confirmation of the veracity of a candidate’s representations regarding charities, priorities, wealth, tax conformance and conflicts of interest.”

As one digs deeper into the national character of the Americans, one sees that they have sought the value of everything in this world only in the answer to this single question: how much money will it bring in?"
