Thank you. But a quibble that you incorrectly used the present tense. It killed it months ago. Biden has publicly and clearly stated that he is targeting Federal money to cities to hire more police; the NYC mayoral election got turned on its head, etc.Not to mention there's Jim Clyburn drawing a clear line in the sand about defund types and their other agenda in the Dem party (I posted a whole load of evidence of its death there.)

BUT this supposed increase in violent crime it's all just right-wing bullshit to distract from all the police abuse going on, I am assured by many lefties!
EXCUSE ME but I think this is more like it: the number of shootings has skyrocketed astronomically, it's just that many more people that are shot don't die because the a majority of the shooters don't have much skill with guns! And medicine has gotten better at keeping people from dying from gunshot wounds. (As far as insuring quality of life after gunshot wounds, though, I'd be willing to bet the improvement rate is: not much.)
So the "homicide" rate is up some but not astronomical and you want to spin that nothing has changed!!! Because you hate police. When an astronomical number of people are being shot by civilians.
I think we should poll the E.R. docs, they would know.
And then interview the victims six months down the road, see what they think about the ramifications of being shot by a gun. How much they are enjoying pain and physical therapy and the psychological implications...

p.s. if there was a public shooting of 8 people at one scene in 2010, there'd be 5 threads on Dagblog on it and a whole bunch of people following the story of the investigation for weeks. This year, CNN does a very short news item on it and then the story disappears, never to be heard of again.
The cops and the medical profession are supposed to deal with the aftermath, though, silently, without any coverage. AFTER working hellish hours a whole year through a pandemic while everyone else stayed home on unemployment.
Because lefties want to spin a new agenda and sweep under the rug that everybody is using handguns.
Just don't say arta didn't warn ya when civilization goes down the tubes and you fell for lefty lies and delusions because the "enemy" right wingers were taking advantage of what was actually happening. Partisanship as delusional suicide, lovely.
Edit to add: wondering now after writing that--how many "stimmies" went to purchase of handguns and ammunitions? Pro Publica or somebody should study that.

and lately most shootings seem to be where they are aiming at one or two people but shoot 5, 6, 7, 8 or more because they are so inexperienced at using a gun to kill. The results are usually some with critical or very critical injuries and others with graze wounds. Often no deaths at all, just misery, maybe for decades or lifelong, not to mention taxing our health care system. If victims can't afford psychological care, scarred for life that way too.
