Ever think of writing something along the lines of in the tradition of Helen Gurley Brown, David Sedaris, and Nora Ephron,” offering “frank and funny advice on everything from sex to eating to traveling to work.” ? just razzing y'all...

Aw, Jeez. . .Genghis, don't look!
Why'd you have to go and do that, aa? That was mean.
Painful, even.

He's a dude - ever since Bridget Jones and Sex & the City, people only care about chick lit & flicks. Brother, can you spare a dime?
[BTW, to be famous, helps to have 2 well-known artists as parents. Rent them if you have to - well worth the expense. And in your bio, always use the word "precocious". Just because it's expected, even if you're not. Did she say her father's family came over on the Mayflower? Presumably Mom's came over on the Exodus? Very New York, nauseatingly so. Let me tell you about my problems....]
Oh, one more thing - Mumblecore is now self-parody. Very profitable self-parody if you're well-connected, but still, it's jumped the shark. Say adieu.

I think Tom Clancy, James Patterson, Michael Connelly, George RR Martin, and Stephen King would be surprised to know that they are writing chick lit.

Best selling fiction (NYT) for the week authors in 2011. James Patterson has three different books during the year.

Stephen King wrote "Carrie" - what do you think that is?
And has James Patterson had an HBO show? Thought not.
Case rested. Now where's my straightening iron?

Great! So all I have to do is write and star in an HBO chick-flick series and then write a chick-lit book proposal with color pictures.
PS I'm going to meet with a friend of mine at Random House for lunch. I'll ask her about getting in on the action.

Don't forget the thong and pumps - don't have to look good in them, just have to give it that good ol' college try. Think Oberlin. Think anything. You'll be at South by Southwest in no time.
