Enormous Kidney Stone Temporarily Shutters The Haikulodeon

    Sorry about that.

    Two huge staghorn kidney stones,

    one in each kidney.

    Two weeks hospital.

Just got out ...  Ahhh ...  Now ... Have to

    get back up to speed.

Will try to resume regular weekly posting on Friday.

    :-)

    Comments

    Losing weight in bed.

    Culinary creations,

    Washed down with fine wine.

    It sounds very relaxing.

But break time is over, Smith.

    Hospital food was

fowl; for breakfast, eggs, and for

    each dinner, chicken.

    Wine was never mentioned,

( 'cept to compare my urine.)

    A surreal two weeks.

Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez, scare the hell out of me!

Oh there I go again, me...me...me...

Hell, I sure hope you are feelin better Smith!

Two weeks in the hospital. Now you can do several Haikus on the subject of Purgatory.

    I hope the damn pain

Is gone and will not return

    I wish you the best.

    Happy Birthday, Richard.

    In hospitals, I've

    noticed, the better you feel,

    the more you're ignored.

Is it or was it your Bday, Richard?  If it is or was, I hope it is or was a happy one.

Here is your purgatory haiku, DD:

    Purgatory; a
place for the not good enough
    and the not so bad.

Maybe I should try doing an all-request haikulodeon some week ... hahaha

    Whatever....

I swear to the Almighty, I was going to begin a Haiku blog on Saturday.

Thank the Good Lord I will not have to. hahahahaha

I went through this last year.  Only I had one stone on the left side.  2 trips to the hospital.  Mine broke up with their help and I passed the pieces.  One hell of a pain for a week.  Did you have surgery?

Yes, I had surgery on the left one and will go back and do the right one in a few weeks.  I found a clinical study that said that ultrasound procedure could be a problem for people with fused spines, like me, plus they thought there might be an infection, so the surgery was necessary.  The real trouble, however, was the intubation.  Even though I explained my problem, (neck and spine totally fused) to the anesthesiologists, and they agreed that using flexible intubation was the only way to go, there were still problems (including finding out that I have sleep apnea!)  and the operation went something like 8 hours.  They then left the intubation tubes in me for another I'm not sure how long.  Five hours of which I was awake trying to get my hands out of the restraining straps in order to pull the damned tube out of my throat.    I had, a few days earlier gone through an endoscopy and thought I would never want to do anything like that ever again.  But that was only for about 35 minutes.  This seemed endless. The doctor reassures me that he will use a different method when he removes the stone in my other kidney.    And so it goes.

Oh My!  I will be thinking of you.  It took me a month to get better because of the infection.  It is going to take you a while.  Keep us posted.

Sorry to hear those things put you down for a bit.  Wishing all the best for you and hoping your recovery is quick.

Glad to see the Haiku-meter was unaffected!
