So a big reason why I posted this was to emphasize that, while Biden was aggressive in getting out of Afghanistan as soon as possible and his Defense Department seems more interested in combating "whiteness" than anything to do with the Middle East, Global Comment, which is a top of the line progressive publication, is sounding like the Weekly Standard in the 2000s. In addition to this article, they also published:
Iraqi Kurds want no part in Middle East conflicts, https://globalcomment.com/iraqi-kurds-want-no-part-in-middle-east-conflicts/
Why Iraqi Kurdistan won't suffer the same fate as Afghanistan, https://globalcomment.com/why-iraqi-kurdistan-wont-suffer-the-same-fate-as-afghanistan/
Turkey keeps shooting America's Syrian Kurdish allies in the back, https://globalcomment.com/turkey-keeps-shooting-americas-syrian-kurdish-allies-in-the-back/
Is Trump's planned Syria withdrawal really a case of practical realism? https://globalcomment.com/is-trumps-planned-syria-withdrawal-really-a-case-of-practical-realism/
The featured article at GC is about homophobia, but there is a discernible right wing drift in some of the content there that is really unexpected.
