You can't leave now, we need you!!!
Funny this involves Aziz Ansari who last i recall making news with a "should we at least try oral sex" failed 1st date conundrum spread publicly ("when Tinder goes wrong... and very public")
Guess Jim Carey gave it up for painting this week. Noted pussy hound Jack Nicholson just celebrated his 85th. I recall him finding himself alone in an elevator with Richard Dreyfuss, silent til Nicholson quipped, "bet you're glad I didn't make a movie this year", which Dreyfuss internally admitted indeed he was (he got the Oscar for "Goodbye Girl"). Bet each day Jack's damn glad he started his career in the 60's rather than now.

I grew up with three women in a generally pretty toxic family that had been like that for generations. It wasn't pretty/fun. Women are equal to men, they're human just like men are - they can also be manipulative, controlling and abusive. The fact that they can be also doesn't disqualify that men can be all those things, and that people of both genders can also both be wonderful and empathetic.
I think that we should have recognized that women can also be toxic after Abu Gharib. IIRC though that was credited with the boyfriend of the girl seen in all those pictures and generally contributed to people turning on the war in Iraq and George W. Bush.

(Embedding didn't work.)

(just fyi, how it was done: the globe emjoi after EX's name shows up as a square in the code. dagblog can't read that. so you delete it before hitting enter on your "embed media" box, and voila, when you enter it this what you get. dagblog can't read any of the Twitter emoji's, you have to delete them in the code but then they show up anyway)

To clarify hopefully, what you enter into the Embed window is a prelim version that tells the web page where to find the rest of that frame, which then overwrites the initial version. So the Drupal web server can't handle icons or some fonts (so you might see a stubby i that has a different unprintable character code) in the initial try, but for some reason the final version that gets loaded can show these oddball graphics fine

So, because of this, people are talking about the fact women can be abusive. This is something we all knew but which I guess we are now finally acknowledging out loud.
Men are generally more physically powerful than women, which causes the idea that men can never hit them. Beyond that, there's a mentality among men to mock any man who ever complains about a woman.
One of my best friends growing up worked with his dad and spent most his time around guys. When he got sprung for ladies after moving out and going to school, he would mock his buddies who were more reticent as gay or losers. His brother got way more attention from his mom and never moved out, I had two sisters and a single mom and one of his other best friends also had a mom and two sisters. He called us gay and "loveless." He would make a show of doing this in front of women especially as an alpha move.
Once he realized that relationships with the opposite sex have issues beyond hooking up, he apologized to all of us. But that mentality feeds in to no one really believing a man who is an abusive situation.

Jury finds both Amber Heard and Johnny Depp were defamed after weeks-long trial
A Virginia jury ruled on Wednesday that actor Amber Heard defamed her ex-husband, actor Johnny Depp, when she wrote a 2018 op-ed in The Washington Post describing herself as “a public figure representing domestic abuse,” The Associated Press reports. The jury also found that Heard had been defamed by one of Depp’s lawyers when he called her abuse allegations a hoax. Depp was awarded $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million dollars in punitive damages with Heard receiving $2 million in compensatory damages and no money for punitive damages, according to CNN.]

Mho, cases like this is where juries really shine. It's like the thing where it's so much easier for anyone to clean up and organize someone else's house or office than their own. Most people can easily see the truth of other people's relationships, they're just blind about their own. They saw through the fact that she's a generally nasty person, and saw that though she harmed him worse, his side harmed her as well.
