    Candidates' Dabbling Threatens Prospects

Carly Fiorina's campaign may be in trouble. More than a decade ago Ms. Fiorina made comments to the effect that she dabbled in corporate management when she was a young woman. While her efforts led to the devaluing of Hewlett Packard stock by almost half, Fiorina made light of the whole matter, “How many of you did not hang out with questionable folks on Wall Street?”

GOP guru Rove said Sunday that will be a continuing problem.

“There are serious questions that have been raised about Ms. Fiorina’s background, character, statements and previous actions. ... And I owned HP stock - a lot of HP stock.”

Meanwhile Linda McMahon admitted to a fling with professional wrestling, but has since tried to downplay the incident, saying, “I did kick some guy in the crotch, but I didn't juice up to do it. I like to try new things, and crotch-kicking was just something I was good at. ... Still am, in fact.”

Republican leadership is brushing aside negative reports of McMahon as part of pre-election "silly season." But they are keeping their fingers, and their legs, crossed hoping that voters think about the fake economy instead of fake sports.

Rep. Mike Pence told ABC's "Good Morning America" any verdict on McMahon's fitness to serve in the Senate is "up to the voters of Connecticut." The Indiana Republican says there's a welling up of anger and a demand for political leaders who will "put our fiscal house in order - with a folding chair."
