"Breaking Amish" TLC hit series from last fall season on Sunday night has started shooting the second season at Pinecraft, a community in Sarasota, Florida. I haven't seen the series because I don't have cable but according to Wikipedia it is about five young adults trying out a new life, to see if they want to remain in their upbringing. Because the series had high ratings and good reviews, it was announced last month that they were shooting a spin off with a new cast starting their lives in Sarasota. There are many former members of Mennonite and Amish communities that live in Pinecraft. This has caused a stir around Pinecraft and some are not happy. They feel the show does not give an honest look at the real lives of the people who live in these communities. This is a quiet laid back neighbor hood with wonderful small business that are not used to all the attention except from local people who like to shop and visit. I can see why this would cause a stir. You can read about the reactions of people who live in Pinecraft in the local paper, Herald-Tribune: http://www.heraldtribune.com/article/20130510/ARTICLE/130519960?tc=obinsite&tc=ar Also in the Tampa Bay Times is a excellent piece about the angest among members of the Amish and Mennonite communities: http://www.tampabay.com/features/media/second-season-of-breaking-amish-set-in-sarasota/2119339
