I know if I was a street-wise high school senior who never learned math beyond fractions, I would probably turn to crime, it's just that simple, there's not a lot of options for ya.

Partly why I worry about sanctions on everything Russian - there are good Russians i want to be part of the next hopefully more evolved system, but wiping out Russian everything to get rid of Putin will likely rebound plus hurt the reform-minded as well.
And then math - while i love math, I'm never sure what people think they should be doing with it. There's much more reason for high school kids to learn basic statistics and probability and logic than pre-Calculus, and if you are headed towards science you can do more. To sell real estate or work at Wendy's or handle online orders you don't need much. Finding your way around a computer, a bit of Excel, how to use a CRM and Word/Google sheets is "employable" enough for many.
