"Wake up: Trump is not trying to win the support of anyone who is not naturally aligned with him."

Mr. Rosen wise as usual, I see.

Maybe one way to approach the briefings is to make no references to anything tweeted ever again. Same thing with MSM reports: No more publication of the tweets as proclamations from the President.
From now on, if Trump wants to proclaim something, let him arrange a press conference or write a letter using the stationary on his desk. Having to listen to his personal stream of consciousness is an invasion of my privacy.

If this article is true, and I generally see it that way, then nothing would make Trump happier than for the MSM to ignore his tweets. He can then speak directly to his base and rile them up without the pushback from the people that think they are obnoxious.

His "base" appears to enjoy that pushback.
Much of Trump's dog and pony show seems like a distraction in the lobby while the money is being rolled out the back door.
Perhaps It is unrealistic to think for a moment that the MSM could tear their eyes away from the circus but treating tweets as official proclamations seems like a gift to this administration.

Well, I also think they ask silly questions, like: "Does president* trump believe in climate change?" Then they get a non-answer that they are frustrated with, and pout about it until they repeat the question the next day. Why play their childish games? He already said what he thinks about it, and hasn't corrected the record, which is HIS job to do if he has indeed changed his mind. How about this:
"The last quote on record from p* trump is when he said that climate change was a Chinese hoax. Since then he has appointed an EPA head who is a climate change denier, and has withdrawn from the Paris Climate Accords. Does the president* have any interest or plans to allow distinguished climate scientists to educate him on this subject?"
Then let Shawn, or the horrible Sarah be stuck with the mic which would then resemble a turd.
Secondly, I don't think the press should boycott the briefings, but they should send a small pool of reporters and agree to share the "information" gleaned. While the briefings are held every other reporter should be snooping around and doing some investigation-journalism. Looking for leakers, speaking to people who work in the EPA and other hobbled departments, and then reporting what they learned during the "press briefing"
