Best o' Dag - Vote for your favorite blog post

Hello folks, after much consideration of the nominees for best o' dag, our "distinguished" panel of judges has proven incompetent. Whining that they could not judge among so many worthy candidates and that besides, they were delirious from a bad stomach flu, they failed to narrow the field.

Therefore, I have sacked the judges and submitted the entire nomination roster to you dagbloggers. If I've set this up right, every registered user will get one vote and only one vote. You can see real-time results, but individual choices will remain confidential. The poll will be monitored by the Zimbabwean Fair and Balanced Ministry for Voting on Stuff, so you can rest assured that your vote will be counted.*

Ramona is self-submitting to the national contest from her own blog, so if she wins, we'll send the runner-up. If anyone else has their own blog and would like to self-submit one of their posts to Batocchio, please email me at [my last name]@yahoo.com.

Voting will conclude at noon on Tuesday EST. If there is no clear winner, we may hold a run-off. Ladies and gentlemen, good luck.

    * Voter ID required in Texas, Idaho, Alabama, and other police states.

I have no idea why, but I get a kick out of this.

    That is all I got!

Well, I showed up with my Social Security card, the original one I got when I was 16 and went to work for the state highway in Ohio. Nope, wasn't good enough. Next I signed in with my debit card. Nope, Dag doesn't take it, especially after it was trashed by Home Depot. My drivers' license slipped down behind the seat of my car and I can't reach it so I just shot myself in the foot on that one---Europa, I'm going to sign in with my Texas gun license #, wait a minute,,,,o.k.,, well I guess Dagblog just went to Hell, but I got to vote.

    I missed this  Missy.

I still have that card, the one I received on  my 16th birthday. I had to apply for it by mail I assume.

    I really have it.

I guess, nowadays, mama and papa can get that card for the baby just after birth?

Why did not that old card evaporate.

I mean the universe is based upon entropy?

I still have mine. 48 years later.

Since my Florida ID cost me 2 trips and over $100, can I vote twice?

I checked with Jeb Bush and the Supreme Court and they say it depends on who you vote for.

    LOL...Merry Christmas

Get your votes in folks! You have a civic responsibility. It's just past noon EST, and the deadline is less than 24 hours away. It's a lot of blog posts, I know, but you can narrow your choices to those that have already received a vote or two.

Vote today, people! We've got a clear frontrunner but a large group tied for second place.

    For the life of me

    Just cannot understand it

    Why Progressives lose.

Hang on... I'll pick one of these blogs as soon as I'm sure that Elizabeth Warren isn't going to write one.

In the words of DD, hahahaha

And it's over. Congratulations Eric Wattree, for a wonderful post and a well-deserved honor!

Eric, I need to know if you would like me to submit this post to Batocchio on behalf of dagblog or your own blog, so please email me or comment here.

(Can't add a new comment, it just thinks I'm trying to vote/cancel my vote, so ...)

Congratulations, Eric! A wonderful post that deserves to be read. I hope you're as proud of it as you certainly should be. Well done!

Well done, Eric!  Congratulations!  Our very first contest!  What a pleasure reading (or re-reading) so many fine posts.  A fine bunch here.  Really.

(Edited to add congrats to the runners-up, Richard Day and Doc Cleveland.  Good job!)

    Congratulations!

    Hi Michael,

I've been a little under the weather - my stomach decided to show me who's running things. But that's great news to come back too.  I am truly honored - and I mean that - because I have tremendous respect for the contributors to Dagblog. So I want to thank everybody who made it possible.

Michael, submit on behalf of Dagblog.

    Happy Holidays to all.

    Eric

    Congratulations, Wattree!
