- The Senate bill, once promised as a top-to-bottom revamp of the health bill passed by the House, instead looks a lot like it.
- It is likely to come to the Senate floor next week. If it passes, Republicans would be on the edge of a major overhaul of the American health care system.

Obama: 'This Bill Will Do You Harm'
The former president issued a warning about the Republican plan to replace his signature health-care law. The Senate is planning to vote on it as early as next week

p.s. Obama's statement is waay smart, politically savvy, READ IT! USE IT! Mho, if you want to keep some health coverage, ditch the polarizing polemic about the evil Republicans for now (and any need to make points for Dems in 2018 and beyond) and use his method online and with your GOP-leaning friends and acquaintances instead. Guilt the GOP Senators who are inclined to do the right thing to do the right thing and vote against.

Cuts to Medicaid May Limit Access to Nursing Homes
By JORDAN RAU 4:18 PM ET
Medicaid, targeted by Republicans’ health care bills, pays for most of the 1.4 million elderly people in nursing homes. Cutbacks to the program may limit their care.
by artappraiser on Sat, 06/24/2017 - 7:53pm
p.s. I am glad to see the Times piece addressing Medicaid and nursing home coverage, as I think this could turn a lot of people who would normally be supportive against what the GOP was doing if they knew and understood. Most people don't realize it until they have to deal with a loved one on Medicare being sent from hospital to nursing home that Medicare does not cover it.
(Most also don't know about the special category of Long Term Acute Care Hospital chains invented by Bush business buddies, two corporate chain start ups, during his presidency, created to be able to get Medicare funding when the hospital doesn't want Mom there no more but she needs more serious care than a nursing home. If the docs on your case okay this, you've got Medicare covering her stay, and may avoid the whole nursing home problem, but you've got to know about that scam to access it. Make no mistake, in the end, in red states, it's still always about shifting the cost to the Feds as much as possible, without making it look like that's happening.Because without the Feds covering nursing homes, it's basically the estate tax to end all estate taxes, the nursing home will take everything.)
