The Bishop and the Butterfly: Murder, Politics, and the End of the Jazz Age

    All You Need Is Love

I remember all of the mass shootings during the 2010s. Fortunately things don't seem on the same destructive scale, but I think everyone needs to be reminded of something ...

    Comments

The Steve Bannon, Paul Gosar, and Marjorie Taylor Greene theme song.

cancelled, like Kathy Griffin was for a similar thing -

BREAKING: The House has voted to censure Republican Paul Gosar, 223-207. He has been removed from his committee assignments.

but that won't stop partisans from lauding what they did, reality is that partisans won't follow Orion's prescription

    edit to add:

Republican partisan are trying to create an authoritarian government. They are suppressing votes and giving legislatures power to overturn elections.

Republicans are inciting violence with the Big Lie

They refuse to hold Paul Gosar accountable

They definitely are not following Orion's prescription

and you are completing the cycle by continuing the partisan hate and anger instead of  being positive and supporting the more independent minded. this is what partisanship is for: fighting. they're just better at it than you, so you lose and they win. the only way out is to opt out. or keep fighting and losing

The Republican leadership has completed the cycle.

They are willing to ignore the Constitution

They are elected officials so they have the power to create an authoritarian government, I do not

BTW, when they take over, you lose too.

this wouldn't stop Americans from hating foreigners, but it would be a start:

    Kinzinger practicing what he's preaching:

Wyoming Republicans are telling us that Lynn Cheney is no longer a member of the GOP.

So laud and support her instead of trying to gin up more support for hating Wyoming Republicans. Your hatred is so obvious sometimes it screams, to me you seem to be little different than Jan. 6 Trump partisans who screamed for the lynching of Pence.

More reasons why I do not take you seriously

State legislatures led by Republicans are changing election laws so that Republicans will always win

Republicans are telling the 13 Republicans who voted for the infrastructure bill that they will have to pay a price

They are kicking Cheney and Kinzinger out of the party.

Republicans are refusing to testify before Congress

They believe that Trump won the election

You see all this and say that I am spewing hate by stating facts.

In your mind, stating the truth makes me no different than the terrorists who attacked on January 6th

You are not making a logical argument.

Here ya go, Orion - Geraldo likes AOC, he really really likes her wink:

and a few of the first agreeable replies to Geraldo

or just try being "interesting and informative" instead of confrontational:

Today, 58% of Republicans say they find talking politics with people they disagree with to be stressful, up 11 percentage points since 2019. Similarly, six-in-ten Democrats say they find such conversations stressful and frustrating, up from 53% in 2019. https://t.co/Kw6QaIiZqq pic.twitter.com/uCVYGfXz0o

and then there's "how about not judging by media' political stereotypes":

Setting off on a road trip around Appalachia, I wondered: my last-chance antebellum tour of MAGA-land before...a national crackup? Encountering nothing but the kindness of strangers, I was reminded that media bubbles are toxic and real life is therapeutic. https://t.co/ka49qXjJtT

Yeah, Trump and friends helped cause this, but does that mean you have to do the same?
