The Bishop and the Butterfly: Murder, Politics, and the End of the Jazz Age

    Giving Harry hell

If you haven't read this story of how Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) just dealt anti-health reform advocates a potentially winning hand, please do. Reid will adjourn the Senate for the August recess, abandoning any vote until the fall and allowing enough momentum to dissipate that reform of any kind may die in the womb.

Thanks for sending Gumbun and me to Washington on the 30th. I can promise you that we will give Harry and all the insurance lobby butt-boys every bit of hell we can muster. And maybe it's time we planned an early September rally. Say, 5 million strong.

    UPDATED with now Nancy, too:

Per lalo's link in comments on an earlier post, Nancy Pelosi has just caved to an August recess, too. Somebody help me plan a 5 million-person rally in September to surround the Capitol. Nobody gets out until they pass single payer. I'm not kidding.
