I examine issues, in my PJ's whilst I attempt to come to some conclusions.
Three days ago Peracles threw me on my ass; not the first time.
AA thinks at times that I meander too much.
So do others.
FREE SPEECH
I think I first heard that there is nothing free in this world from my drunken father.
But Congress shall make no law....
Except the original Amendment only applied to laws perpetrated by the Federal Government and only lately (the last sixty or seventy years) was there a judicial thrust to make the Bill of Rights really a Bill of Rights that might prevent states from instituting laws abridging the rights contained therein.
Salon as well as other bigger 'liberal ' blog sites began examining the hypocrisy of the Right with regard to the applications of the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
Cartoons representing Allah or Mohammed should be protected world wide.
Cartoons making fun of JC should be erased from all memory.
Cartoons depicting Jews as strange alien creatures have been banned in Germany since its defeat in WWII.
FREEDOM OF SPEECH
I noted in a recent comment that some fascist prick who somehow developed his own blog/radio show in the NE ended up in jail for years (released recently to home jail time) for not only instructing that certain Federal Appellate Judges be murdered; but he used satellite photos to tell his sick listeners the addresses of these judges.
I recall cases involving those who instruct per books and pamphlets how to build home made bombs.
Of course if you make a hundred million bucks a year spewing out right wing messages, you can be free to ask your listeners to riot in the streets of Denver during a Dem convention.
I think I related that it is still against the law to yell 'fire' in a populated Elementary School.
Only, of course, when there is no fire except when the school is holding a fire 'test'.
GUNPOWER
Salon gets me thinking again with an old up dated blog concerning gun safety and state legislatures.
Oh we need open gun laws.
Oh we need more guns in the schools to prevent violence.
Oh we need more guns in stores to prevent violence.
Oh we need more guns in business establishments to prevent more violence.
BUT KEEP THE GODDAMN GUNS OUT OF STATE CAPITOL BUILDINGS.
Hahahahahahah
THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER
The French.
Hell the Right hated the French so much years ago that they prayed for AMERICAN FRIES.
Now the Right supports the French.
The French are abridging the speech of all Muslims whilst they protest the abridgment of speech by 'Muslims'.
I am not attacking the French.
Hell, I am anti-Muslim in fact. I do not like the Muslim faith or the Jewish faith or any faith but I must confess that I am really getting into this new Pope.
All women must be covered from head to foot.
A husband owns his wife.
Sex never happens (shades of my old Roman Catholic heritage)!
Change your faith from Allah to Jahova and you shall die....
But we must deal with 1.5 or 1.7 billion (that's billion) people across the planet.
And I could get into America's gun toting Christian militias and even to our definition of 'terrorism'.
But I do not have seventeen hundred pages to work with now.
PERACLES
We have many fine bloggers here at Dagblog.
Peracles will show up and knock my socks off; if not my PJ's.
In a fine blog by Muhhamed, a newby to this blog site, issues were presented concerning free speech and freedom of religion and a host of other issues if you bothered to really really attempt to digest.
It is just, in the midst of all of this; Peracles shows up.
And here it is.
There is no comment, just a song.
And I went nuts.
Maybe we are just dealing with a human condition (or an human condition in the olden days).
Or the Human Condition.
Peracles (of all peeps?) plays Melanie.
LOOK WHAT THEY DONE TO MY SONG, MA.
Now, Mr. Smith is out of commission with a life long illness that continues to debilitate him.
I am not a poet.
Peracles just knocked me out with this song.
Look what they done to my song, Ma.
Look what they done to my brain, Ma
Look what they done to my soul, Ma
THE RIGHT WING
I was thinking weeks ago about one topic.
How many times has Rush been threatened with his very life and called a fascist and a NAZI and a...
How many times has Hannity been threated with his very life and called a fascist and a NAZI and a...
How many times has Gohmert been threatened with is very life and called a fascists and a NAZI?
I just recall the recess in middle school and some kid would throw out accusations to some other kid and the kid would reply:
Everything you say to me bounces onto me and goes back unto you.
CONCLUSION?
There are people dead in France.
There are people dead in America.
There are people dead all over the world.
Because some people thought they were right in killing these people.
I meandered too far, once again.
But Peracles really ripped my gut with Melanie, a singer I have high lighted years ago in my blogs with a song I forgot.
I am so sorry but I have been forced by tech probs to amend this in steps.
This was my conclusion.
HEY MA
Comments
Amazing performance. Sorry to say (and don't tell PP) I didn't click on it back there. But you saw the need to make sure we saw it again and here I am, loving it, putting my own meaning to it, thinking maybe we'll get through this.
Naw.
But thanks so much for writing this, for sharing this, and for being here, Richard.
by Ramona on Fri, 01/16/2015 - 4:58pm
Damn.
You were ready to read this Ramona.
Thank you.
I have been having these tech probs that interfere with real issues.
Peracles just knocked me out and then Mike M showed up with a nice approval.
There are truths embedded in great songs.
THANK YOU

Sorry about your tech problems, Richard. I was having trouble with my keyboard yesterday and today. It was if there was a typo freak gone wild in there and it was erasing letters I didn't want erased and adding letters I didn't want added and jumbling things all around. Turns out it was cookie crumbs. I upended the little thing and shook it like crazy until the crumbs stopped falling, and it's been on its best behavior ever since. I guess I showed that little bugger!
by Ramona on Fri, 01/16/2015 - 5:32pm
I caught it on Muhammed's blog, too, and had the same reaction you.did, Dick. It's a sublimely perfect song.
Isn't it funny that before the massacre, very few people around the world had ever heard of Charlie Hebdo. Now, that little, practically bankrupt publication is not only known, but has received enough financial backing to continue for years to come. The attackers used their hate to make what they hate bigger. Is that what we're doing to Rush, Hannity and others?
By the way ... have I told you lately how great I think you are?
by barefooted on Fri, 01/16/2015 - 6:31pm
I haven't seen Rush quoted like I used too. He has flat lined in the radio market and has never recovered. Many of the big radio markets have him now on at night and moved to a low rated AM station. Even ethnic stations have higher ratings in these cities then Rush. No one would have any idea what he is babbling about if cable didn't quote him. .
by trkingmomoe on Fri, 01/16/2015 - 8:22pm
I am glad that you caught this before I pointed it out
Do you ever just get 'awakened' by some paragraph or whatever.
Of course you do.
I think I covered my thoughts rather well in Muhammed's blog.
I do not think that there is an 'answer'.
I do not think that we should okay the printer who tells us how to build proper bombs.
i do not think that we should suggest to our readers that this person or that person should be killed.
I get lost in the First Amendment.
Melanie, is a saint to me.
Will more discussion actually ever help us?
I was thinking about this program or these programs to better help us in our search for the bad guys. That is why some drug dealers use old men like me to transport drugs or arms.
AGAIN
look what you done to my Bible.
look what you done to my Koran.
look what you done to my Constitution.
Look what you done to my song.
thank you Missy.
You stay safe!
by Richard Day on Fri, 01/16/2015 - 10:49pm
You got it backwards! I much prefer it when you babble and ramble.
You must be mixing me up with one of your other girlfriends on some other website, like old guys on too much cough syrup are wont to do.
by artappraiser on Fri, 01/16/2015 - 11:23pm
You kill me.
If it were not for you and Oxy and Momoe and Cville and Missy AND of course Ramona, I would be writing on a notepad. and maybe that would have been better.
I have no other web sites, which you well know. hahahahah
I think it was about five years ago you got mad at me or I got mad at you.
But you never abandoned me. hahahah
When you or my other girl friends show up or if one of the Mikes or Eric Wattree or Mr. Smith or Q or Ducky (almost never) or a few others; well I feel all right and I do not feel all right most of the time.
But what do you think about Peracles?
Please tell me.
This guy blows my mind.
It is of import.
Plus, just as an aside, a guy on reg SS does not have that many folks interested in me.
Just ask my granddaughter.
hahahahah

Yeah you are a prick; but so am I.
hahahahah
I wanna know.
God Almighty, I am glad you come back once in awhile.
I get so down, I see no order and I feel like Carlin sometimes.
There are truths out there and this has nothing to do with X Files.
Thank you for appearing here.
I really mean it!

I see cultivated disorder, and while I'm a technical optimist, the guys with the lawyers and bags of money seem to be grabbing all our peace dividend, beating ploughshares into swords so to speak. As no less than the esteemed Johnny Cash proclaimed (quoting Acts as he was wont to get biblical on us), ""It's hard for thee to kick against the pricks".
I think he means it as an optimistic reckoning, but the tone feels more dire.
by PeraclesPlease on Thu, 01/22/2015 - 1:02am
I do not know why, but I wait twelve hours and I play this song that I forgot; a long time ago.
WHAT A SONG!
Damn.
But f###k you.
I am now stuck replaying this....probably all day.
But then again, what the hell else do I have to do?
hahahahahah
God I love this song.
An homage to pricks.
wonderful!
by Richard Day on Thu, 01/22/2015 - 1:57pm
Yes, fuck me. What do we have to do, after all? Only what we want to. Or what the man will order. When the man. comes. around.
by PeraclesPlease on Thu, 01/22/2015 - 6:22pm
Johnny's theme of different outcomes reminded me of Gillian Welch and David Rawlings:
I think Cash would nod at "every day is getting straighter."

But some people can never go straight...
by PeraclesPlease on Fri, 01/23/2015 - 2:38am
And Johnny would nod at Number of the Beast as well...
by PeraclesPlease on Fri, 01/23/2015 - 2:43am
for Moat, just so you'll click on the other songs.
by PeraclesPlease on Sat, 01/24/2015 - 4:58pm
I listened and liked their sound. I see what you mean about Johnny being comfortable with all kinds of folk and situations. Maybe he was the first global citizen.
In the space between heaven and hell, there is ordinary suffering:

Melanie blew my mind with her tribute to Meher Baba - "I came to you with words and you always misconstrued them, so this time I come in silence" - perhaps we need another age of silence, since every argument no matter how intellectual seems to lead to hatred and misunderstanding, used as a battering ram to break down reason. Whether we're Muslim, Christian, atheist, western, eastern. Silence is where the heart is - all else is ego.
"Man’s inability to live God’s words makes the Avatar’s teaching a mockery. Instead of practicing the compassion he taught, man has waged wars in his name. Instead of living the humility, purity, and truth of his words, man has given way to hatred, greed, and violence. Because man has been deaf to the principles and precepts laid down by God in the past, in this present Avataric form, I observe silence."
by PeraclesPlease on Sat, 01/17/2015 - 5:12pm
Thank you, I needed that.

Candles in the rain. Yes, it is just like that.
Richard has smoked you out of any kind of hiding place.
Let us turn the review around; Who else could have pulled that off?
by moat on Sat, 01/17/2015 - 6:31pm
Quinn l'Esquimeau, peut-être?
(quand Quinn l'Esquimau arrive, tout le monde va sauter de joie)

I was referring to this, actually.
I love this song and I have used it (from Youtube and most probably in violation of Copyright Laws (See Dr. Cleveland) at least two or three other times in my posts.
Every time I wake up and re-read the old posts, I think: have I been too sentimental?
Sentimentality had nothing to do with my reaction to your comment in the other post.
Instead there was truth.
We have free speech.
And yet there is nothing free at all.
It was not sentimentality (although that opiate is always with me) but truth.
That is why I thought of Dylan when there was NO TRUTH.
It is like a photograph....I mean you just caught it.
And as far as your reference to Q, that guy liked me when I announced that I had just dropped another cig ash (live unto my jammies, hahahahah) along time ago.
I have no idea why I am doing this now, but we all search for truth except there is no truth if there is no context.
Basically, you caught me off guard with regard to my song and our song and millions of others who have songs.
IT JUST GOT ME.
My fear was that I might embarrass you.
I am glad that you were not embarrassed.
And Candles in the Rain, is of more import I guess, to us older folks.
But how the youngsters would ever ignore Candles in the Rain, is beyond me.
We all must ask the newer generations to attempt to hold their candles in the rain.
OH, GOD ALMIGHTY, I SOUND TOO SENTIMENTAL.
by Richard Day on Mon, 01/19/2015 - 8:07pm
Oh this faded out, it happens all the time to me.
I cannot let this go. It always means so much to me.
by Richard Day on Sun, 03/15/2015 - 2:55am
It is in the middle of the night again.
But attempt to listen to these songs presented by Moat and Peracles.
PLEASE!
This is goooooooooooood stuff.
They should just do a site with their repertroire?
Again it is in the middle of the night, and too much cough syrup.
ha
