FWIW [for what it's worth] : because it's been out in the public domain for a few days, there's no issues of  communicating unclassified info to worry about.

Bill Moving Through Congress Would Make Streaming a Felony

A Senate committee this week approved a bill that would make it a felony to stream pirated content.

The Commercial Felony Streaming Act, S. 978, was approved by the Senate Judiciary Committee, and now heads to the full Senate for a vote. It would clarify that whether you stream that pirated episode of "True Blood," or download it, it's still illegal. But the bill would only target those serving up the illegal content, not those who watch it online.

The Ultimate Bio-fuel we all can Enjoy !

Turns out, the dregs left over from the distilling process, pot ale,  for scotch has quite a kick as the drink itself.

So if you want to support a move away from carbon-based fuels, drink more scotch !!!

Political donations kerfuffle

I'm planning on participating in an activity I rarely do ... political donations.

Elizabeth Warren is such an inspiring individual, I have no issue with donating a few coins every pay period. I'm a resident of Nevada, but her understanding of the complexity of the issues we all are facing at the bottom of the rung makes me want to see her succeed. Of course I have an alternative motive too!

Peak Oil and the Tip of an Iceberg

While casually drifting on the Info Hiway, I ran across a few articles that made me sit up and think peak oil is nothing but a side issue.

First, here's a quote In 1924, President Coolidge wrote in 1924 ...

“... the supremacy of nations may be determined by the possession of available petroleum and its products ...”

From what I read, by the 1910s, the United States was pumping between 60 and 70 percent of the world's oil supply from our own backyard ... Texas. It wasn't too long before people began to think US oil reserves were dangerously depleted, so the search for new oil reserves turned worldwide. However, those fears ended in 1924, with the discovery of enormous new oil fields in Texas, Oklahoma, and California. Along with other finds from new fields in Mexico, the Soviet Union, and Venezuela, all combined to drastically depress oil prices. In fact, there was so much oil on the market, the price for crude fell to 10 cents a barrel.
