Undoubtedly much had to do with efficiencies in ex-Soviet countries, China, India -easier to do business, more access to education, and better health conditions to harmonize living conditions.
This despite growing 2 billion, 1/3, since 2000. But this doesn't seem easily sustainable. China will drop 100 million by 2050, affecting factory output, and later free fall. India will grow nearly 300 mill, ~20%, straining it's efficiencies.(how much IT needed into the world? What other sectors?).
While I regularly harp on sub-Saharan Africa, Pakistan will add 50%, Indonesia 1/6.
Additionally, which areas will lead tech and innovation, vs taking care of an aging population?
Russia was already falling rapidly - no doubt the war accelerates this hugely.
