With Florida now at the epicenter of a fast-changing national gun debate, the state’s Republican governor is so far refusing to budge from his long-standing opposition to new limits on firearms.
The approach of Gov. Rick Scott, who holds an A+ rating from the National Rifle Association and is preparing to enter what would be a hotly-contested Senate race, stands in contrast to fellow Republicans such as Sen. Marco Rubio and President Trump who in recent days have expressed openness to some new gun regulations.
Since last week’s mass shooting at a south Florida high school re-energized gun-control activists, Scott has responded to questions about the issue with answers that quickly turn to mental health and the need for enhancing safety protocols in schools.
Although he initially told CNN last week “everything’s on the table,” Scott declined an invitation from the network to appear at Wednesday night’s town hall with survivors of the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla.
Robert Costa, WaPo, earlier this afternoon. No wonder Scott is doing his best to point the finger at FBI Director Wray by suggesting his resignation.

Ok,now that is the final evidence I need--see my comment here on previous evidence, that convinces me that that has been secretly NRA approved to give their guys something, so they can say they did "act, just do something" like so many of the Parkland kids and parents mentioned. They are going to pass that in Congress and will continually point to it later, they did something and it didn't help.

Without addressing background checks, research on gun deaths, and assault weapons, the NRA will still look like lunatics. Keep Wayne and Dana in the forefront.
