I am shocked. The charges involve domestic violence and a weapon. There was no way that this could have been predicted.

He is in the news about every other month down here in South Florida. Next time he shoots someone he will do jail time. Lots of liberal judges in the Miami area not like up the east coast and prosecutors who don't care who's nephew he is.

Guy has the worst luck, am I right?

And he's only 34 years old. The way he's wasting his life would be sad if he didn't deserve every bit of it.

No, he is a sociopath. He abuses women and unarmed kids. He will get his dues. OJ did.

Zimmerman is the grift who keeps on grifting!

Hey Hey Dick... Here's something from July 2013 . . .
The following I wrote and originally posted in July 2013 at another message board I frequent. I also posted it once again at TPM in September 2014:
He truly is "...the grift who keeps on grifting..." all the way to his grave.

Z is right Ducky!
Z will never see that he has erred ever.
And he can keep punching his lady friends and most probably kill somebody else!
But he shall know in his heart that he was right!
DAMN

God, sooner or later that fool is going to kill someone else. And we're all just helplessly waiting for that to happen.

True. Sadly there are women who won't stay away from him.
by trkingmomoe on Sun, 01/11/2015 - 9:54pm
It's also quite possible that he'll end up on the losing end of the gun. His growing sense of invincibility may be the death of him.

TPM couldn't let us know the "weapon" was throwing a wine bottle?
Josh used to be a journalist.
Sorry to interrupt the Zimmerman Schadenfreude
by PeraclesPlease on Mon, 01/12/2015 - 9:25am
Obviously something as "light" as a wine bottle couldn't do any damage. Three should be no reflection as to whether a person who killed another person and has repeat contact with law enforcement may have gotten away with murder.
Bill Cosby has never been convicted of anything, therefore we should not question his past actions. Enough of Cosby Schadenfreude.
by rmrd0000 on Mon, 01/12/2015 - 9:42am
obviously a wine bottle is a helluva lot less deadly than a gun, so try again with your descent into irrelevancies. Josh should report complete news.

Just somebody explain this to me... with all the men out there, why do some women choose to have sex with George Zimmerman?
by Michael Maiello on Mon, 01/12/2015 - 5:50pm
It may be that it was one of the rare times that a gun wasnt handy.
A gun was involved in an assault on a girlfriend in 2013.
The court ordered that guns be removed from Zimmerman's home.

Of course it could be that his temper is coming under better control (snark)
by rmrd0000 on Mon, 01/12/2015 - 6:03pm
It was a wine bottle. He actually turned in a gun, but it wasn't part of the incident. I'm sure Josh ignored these details because it makes a better gut-stirring story.
Me, I'm gonna go get me a Chardonnay in a plastic cup - my missus is safe. I think.

It was a evolving story. Several of the first stories I read didn't report anything but the arrest for domestic violence and the use of a weapon. TPM and others updated the story later with much more information, including the wine bottle, when the info from the police report became available. Your complaints directed at Josh are incorrect. If there's any issue here it's the first with the news syndrome. In the rush to get the news out on a developing story often news organizations have incomplete information.
by ocean-kat on Tue, 01/13/2015 - 2:57am
The CNN piece that Josh links to mentions the wine bottle. Josh's original piece still doesn't mention the wine bottle, though a later article on TPM Live noted the wine bottle and put "psychopath" in the headline.
I'll stick with my interpretation, thanks - Josh Marshall is just playing for crap sensationalist journalism. Now go ahead and disagree because you simply don't like me so have to disagree with anything I write.

TPM is very sensationalistic, that's a valid complaint. I've posted that here a few times. But you're still incorrect in your analysis of this story.. All the posts linked have been updated several times. The last update on the CNN piece occurred 6 hours after the last update on the first TPM article. You can't use links to updated articles as proof.
I open the gate for the tourists Thursday through Sunday, make coffee, and sit down to read the news early in the morning. I watched the story evolve as reporters gathered more information. If the story came out Monday through Wednesday I wouldn't have seen it until late afternoon and would only have seen the updated versions. I'm a night person. I stay up all night and sleep until afternoon on my days off.
How I feel about you has nothing to do with whether I agree or disagree. Really dude, you're simply not that important to me. Look at your posts and look at my replies. It's very clear that I ignore almost everything you write. I replied to you on this story since I thought your comments very unfair to Josh. While I'm as unhappy as many here were with how we were treated when the readers blog section was ended sometimes I think too often too many carry too big a grudge too long. This isn't the first time I've commented when I felt others here have gone too far in their criticism of Josh.
by ocean-kat on Tue, 01/13/2015 - 7:19am
Just to be clear... hitting your girlfriend, wife or lover with a wine bottle is psychopathic behavior.
You can kill somebody that way.
by Michael Maiello on Tue, 01/13/2015 - 9:12am
We don't even know if he threw it at her, or just broke it to make a point. (the report I saw was that it was outside - did he break it on the path, or did he actually throw at her?) How many domestic disputes involve breaking some dishes - roughly equivalent to a wine bottle. I've had a girlfriend call the police on me and make up that I did something to her when she'd basically beat on my back and scratched me (not painful - I just ignored her, which made her madder). Of course the story she told to the police was bullshit, and they would have thrown me in jail I'm sure if I hadn't shown my marks and she had absolutely none, but I still had to go sleep somewhere else for the night. Another time she threw a jar at me - put a nice dent in the wall, but did I feel truly threatened?
So I hate this jumping on a domestic dispute with no real proof (such as the elevator video of the football player knocking his girlfriend out).
