He will be running against Patrick Murphy an other House Rep from Florida in the Democratic Primary. He announced this week with this video.
It looks like Florida will have an interesting election for the Democratic Party. This will be an open seat since Rubio is running for President and not reelection to the Senate.

That was a great video. I don't live in Florida and I don't know this Patrick Murphy guy, but to have Grayson in US Senate would be awesome.

Patrick Murphy was a Republican then switched to run against Allen West and beat him. He votes a lot with the Republicans because he is from a ruby red district. Florida Democratic Party is supporting Murphy for the seat. He is actually to conservative for South Florida which is were all the population is. He is not that well known out side of his district.
There is a group of blue dogs that run the Democratic Party in Florida. That is about to change. With the new district map we are going to see some better Democrats. All our major cities have Democratic Mayors so there is some good talent to chose from. Don't let anyone tell you that Florida has no bench. No one would run because until the district court case was settled.
I get emails all the time from Allen Grayson even though I am not in his district. He seems to take a interest in the whole area out side of his district. Maybe that was because his district changed twice. He raises money the same way Sanders does and doesn't take big donations. He isn't liked by the blue dogs who runs things. He had said after Christmas he was thinking about running but would wait to see if Debbie WS would run. If she ran he would not. Murphy threw his hat in early spring and got the blessing from the party bosses.
It will certainly liven things up.

The little snippet I saw on one of the MSNBC evenings suggested Grayson was a "loose cannon". That would be consistent with the party powers telegraphing their preference in the race by leaking their opinions to the press.

That is part of his charm.

I know he won't do it, but a Sanders/Grayson ticket would scare the **** out of the DLC.
