It's just come to my attention that the Dag Blog masthead now has a new addition. I can't think of a better one.
Destor covers the economy and politics like no one's business, has a great sense of humor and an approach to blogging (and commenting) that I've truly come to love. I think we've all come to love him....even though he likes to smash folding chairs over unsuspecting victims' heads while showing off his orange-tanned pecs.
Destor -- congratulations. A well-deserved spotlight is now upon you. I know you'll wear it well.
Oh, and, um....btw? The initials of the masthead peeps now spells GD COWARD, for those of you paying attention to these things.
Hee.

Good deal, Destor, by management and for Dagblog. Hope you all enjoy your first Christmas (er...if you celebrate it) with Little Destor. (Remember he will enjoy the wrapping paper more than the gift it covers...)

No they don't. They spell GAOCW DRDR. Anybody knows that.

How about Dag Crowd?
Love Destor's addition to the masthead. I've been a faithful follower since forever.
Yay!!!!
by seashell on Sat, 12/18/2010 - 12:28am
OMG, Shellie....you're right! DAG CROWD!
See, this is why I need you as my partner should I ever play Scrabble.
by LisB on Sat, 12/18/2010 - 12:56am
Bring 'em on, Lis!! We'll razzle dazzle the Scrabble tiles and win big, partner. Can we play online?
by seashell on Sat, 12/18/2010 - 1:37am
Only if there's money involved, honey.
by LisB on Sat, 12/18/2010 - 1:48am
There actually is an online version of Scrabble, but one must pay a subscription to use it. However, Yahoo! Games offers a version for free called Literati that werks fer me and three other women who have met one evening a week for the past seven years for a quick game and some laughs. There is a chat window below the game. I have six evenings free....hint, hint.

'The time has come, the Walrus said
To talk of many things
Of Shells and Flowers and Literati
And time to practice first
Before the camaraderie?

Okay this is fine and dandy. But I have one question for Destor:
Are you now or have you ever been a member of the Communist Party or any other organization that called for the overthrow of the American Government.
Some of the stuff you write sounds like a communism.
Now I aint sayin that you're a communism.
You just sound like a communism sometimes!

by Richard Day on Sat, 12/18/2010 - 2:57am
I am not a communism!

The quality of my early morning reading has been going up since I followed all of you from TPM cafe. It gets better every week.

I'm thrilled that Destor is up there on the masthead. He's a terrific writer, and he has an adorable kid, too. Love that in a person!
Lis, no offense, but I'm liking DAGCROWD way more than GDCOWARD. I even like Kaukonen's GAOCW DRDR better than yours!
by Ramona on Sat, 12/18/2010 - 7:57am
You are a discerning person with good taste, Ramona. I've always thought that.
by seashell on Sat, 12/18/2010 - 1:55pm
And you, dear Seashell, are most discerning to have noticed.
by Ramona on Sat, 12/18/2010 - 2:28pm
Adding my congratulations as well, Destor. Congratulations to Dagblog all 'round...your roster of bloggers is becoming quite lustrous.
by wabby on Sat, 12/18/2010 - 9:48am
OMG, I LOVE that word "lustrous". I'm stealing it and using it first chance I get.
Are you getting snow there? We're getting it here and it wasn't forecast. But it looks purty.
by Ramona on Sat, 12/18/2010 - 11:18am
Okay, we've been shoveling out for a couple of hours. The purty has passed.
by Ramona on Sat, 12/18/2010 - 2:29pm
Shit.
Now Destor's gonna turn into an oppressor.
Apologies Destor, but I'm afraid I now have to oppose your every utterance, and pray nightly for your annihilation from the face of the Earth.

Well done.
by quinn esq on Sat, 12/18/2010 - 10:58am
But destor, you're supposed to be writing that book.
(That's my Catholic upbringing coming out--can't not guilt ya.)
by artappraiser on Sat, 12/18/2010 - 11:37am
I actually think I'm getting somewhere with that. :) I do appreciate the encouragement, double a.
by Michael Maiello on Sat, 12/18/2010 - 3:32pm
Destor, I'm a newcomer here and have appreciated your many contributions to the dialogue. I congratulate you on joining the other fine Dagbloggers on the mast head.
by Oxy Mora on Sat, 12/18/2010 - 12:20pm
You're the sweetest, LisB. Thanks a bunch! And of course thanks to all of you for the warm welcome and to Quinn for wishing me dead.
by Michael Maiello on Sat, 12/18/2010 - 3:32pm
But he wished it in a good way.
by LisB on Sat, 12/18/2010 - 5:52pm
See that? Already, I'm being oppressed.
by quinn esq on Sat, 12/18/2010 - 5:57pm
FREE QUINNIE!
by LisB on Sat, 12/18/2010 - 5:58pm
Congratulations! I've enjoyed reading your discussions about financial matters. Keep up the good work.
