Our Rowan-the-Manatee Could Use Our Help

I just got the official Okey-Dokey from Rowan to post this blog; she's

been too unwell to even imagine that she could spend enough time at her computer

to read any posts it might elicit, but now feels more up to it.  She's been having a hard time lately with her health

Last year it was discovered she had a brain tumor, and she was treated with radiation surgery.  The prognosis is very good, and she will have her darlin' head checked again

in another year.  And of course they will find no further evidence of nasty interloper.  At the same time she found out that the harsh pain in one side of her face was trigeminal neuralgia; acupuncture, she says, helps to keep it at bay.

In January of this year she was having some alarming symptoms, went to the hospital, and underwent a bunch of tests that showed an embolism had migrated to one lung.  She was given meds to dissolve the clot, but they've proven to be slow about

doing their job.  She had returned to work, and tried to take it easy while the meds had a chance to work, but not long after her heart went catty-wampus, and she returned to the hospital, and underwent more tests.  The conclusion was that the damage from the embolism had caused her heart to pump harder to make up for the lung deficiency, so now her heart is a funky, too.

They changed her meds, and advised lots of bed rest, which means she'll have to take the next semester off from teaching to heal.  Rowan says that she's accumulated lots of sick leave, which will help financially.  Meanwhile, her very loving partner and her dogs are taking excellent care of her.  And we all know how helpful loving-care is to healing.

Now here's the thing: once again I am asking on behalf of Rowan that you spend some time consciously helping her; through good thoughts or prayers or chants, whichever way

you are accustomed to focusing and sending your good energy and strength to her.

She wanted me to let you know that she won't be able to respond to the messages you send her here; she needs to husband her strength for her internal struggle, but I know she will be saying thank you in her heart.

We love you and appreciate you, and we want you well.  We miss you here; you're one of Our Best.
