    Students choose community college because it is cheaper.  I do hope he can get the free 2 years of college.  I just wish he would of said that before the election.  I hope he does lowere the student loan debt right now.

    Only problem the new jobs have been part time and low paying.  Yes let build some infrastructure.  Good response to that. 

    Fair trade to China?  I will believe it when I see it.

    Cuba got a good response.  It is time to change that. End the embargo.

    He will veto any new sanctions on Iran.

    he wants a cyber threat bill passed to protect our internet from hackers.  

    Good lets hear about climate change. It is hot out there. Lots of turbulent weather is a national threat. Cut CO2 admissions.

    He is addressing division of the country and partisanship. He is trying to incourage bi-partisanship.  It won't happen. They are too disconnected from reality. 

    The GOP won't stop beating up on women and minority. 

    Yes put the end of voting restrictions.  Good response to that. 

    Reform policing and incarceration rate.

    Owooo rub their nose into the fact that you won both elections. LOL..

    It was a political moment with some bits and pieces of sincerity mixed in , probably.

    I'd rather have a president who can deliver a well written speech than having that not be the case. So Obama has checked that box competently.

    And the republican response is to call for building a pipeline. Reminding  me of a friend's comment in 1974 "Nixon had greatness thrust upon him. And he ducked."

    Oh well.  So what did she say?  Not much just lots of group tested buss words. They sure want to pass that pipe line to make less then a few hundred permanent jobs. Other then that not much else is on their plate just repeal ACA and hold lots of meetings.

    Just a final thought...

    The First Lady looked lovely as always and well as beautiful Doctor Biden. 

    Justice Ginsburg had a lovely set of handmade crocheted gloves on.  I always enjoys seeing her collars.  I just wonder if she does the crocheting.  I thread crochet and have made several gloves for weddings.  So for me it was a thrill to see the gloves when she hugged the President. .

    Oops.  Sorry I missed this, Richard.  I was on Twitter for most of it and should have looked to see if anyone was doing this here.

    I thought it was a great speech, but without real action or results, it's still just a rousing speech.  I do love it when the Republicans get their panties in a twist, and of course they didn't disappoint.

    And Joni Ernst isn't the only one who ever put bread bags over her shoes.

    The hair do is standard military issue. 

    I admit that the bread bag thing was a little over the top.  You can't walk in bread bags. They rip and you would fall on your butt because they are slippery.  You can put them inside your boots to keep your feet dry if the boots leak. Besides a kid in the 1980's would never been caught with bread bags on their feet. Talk about wearing a bullseye for harassment.

    We used bread bags to cover our shoes but then we slipped our bread bag shoes into boots--where nobody saw them.  I did it with my kids, too.  So for Phony Joni to say all the kids in the neighborhood could be SEEN walking around with bread bags over their shoes. . .uh uh.  She should have rehearsed that part a little better.

    Florida tea party didn't want to be left out of the responses to the so the nutty and stupid Fl.19 congress critter, Curt Clawson, gave a speech too.  He is the one who thought the the officials from the Commerce Dept and State Dept was from India last summer. This is the Naples area with lots of uber-rich, you would of thought that they could of come up with a better Republican for that seat.

    Unfortunately my desktop pc and television are in two different rooms so I cannot watch and comment at the same time. I did watch the whole thing though, and then girded my loins to watch the R response. But when Ernst started yammering about the  bread bags over her shoes I just about puked and had to stop watching, take an aspirin and go to bed. If she grew up in farm country you better believe every one of those kids on her school bus had a pair of shit kickers in their various mud rooms to keep their feet dry. Bread bags my ass.

    The current GOP is the most unpatriotic party in modern history. These people were praising Putin as a strong leader because he made Obama look weak. Putin wanted to invade the Ukraine and the GOP made him a hero. Now the GOP is bringing Bibi to talk to a Congress about Iran. This is the height of disrespect for a President. The GOP favors Vlad and Bibi over their own country. Next the GOP will bring the Canadian Prime Minister to tell us what we should do about the "disater waiting to happen" pipeline.
