10-40 HINDSIGHT
I signed up for Smithsonian Magazine.
I end up getting Cars&Idiots, Rolling Stone and ESPN magazines besides The Smithsonian.
It makes no sense.
Ten bucks and I keep getting these other magazines and I keep getting these mailings asking me to re-new these other mags I never signed up for!
Anyway, ESPN tells me 6 weeks ago or so that the Twins will eventually win all of 70 games or so all year and end up in the cellar of their division.
Well, as of May 27th of this year, my favorite team (since I was ten?) finds itself in 2nd place in its divsion, a game and a half behind the leader following a 2-1 victory over Boston? Mauer’s knees are shot of course, but damn he still hits and does a nice role at first base. And we have Torii Hunter again after seven years or so and he is hitting 280 and Torii still knows how to handle a ball in the outfield.
And we found these AA pitchers who are confounding the batters; where the hell did they come from?
But this aint spose to happen.
AND THIS MAKES ME HAPPY.
A DIGRESSION
My son tells me that he was taking a walk with Precious down the street (actually Precious is riding on her bike with the supporting back wheels) and she stops at the next-door neighbors and discovers this pretend alligator on the front lawn. One of those clay representations.
Well, Precious gets off her bike and attacks the alligator and will not let go. Hahahahah
My son wins the match of course, but when he gets Precious home he recalls the olden days.
So he goes into his garage and finds the dinosaur that I had given him when he was five.
It was made of rubber/plastic.
And so for the last few weeks, Precious just carries this dinosaur wherever she goes and if confronted, she says:
GRRRRRRR.
In the olden days there was THE HULK.
And my son would (at the age of three) pretend he was THE HULK.
And he would go:
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.
Hhahahahaahhaha

BACK TO THE NON DIGRESSION
The repubs have predicted many things over the last decade or so.
Walker from Wisconsin has predicted great strides in employment whilst lowering taxes for the rich and the corporations and almost destroying the Wisconsin Unions. The state deficit is at an all-time high.
http://www.jsonline.com/news/milwaukee/69771807.html
Brownback from Kansas has predicted great strides in employment whilst lowering taxes for the rich and the corporations and almost destroying Kansas Unions. The state deficit is at an all-time high.
Brownback’s greatest quote:
THESE THINGS TAKE TIME!
http://ksnt.com/2015/04/22/large-part-of-brownback-budget-plan-in-trouble/
Florida is having a wonderful time following the repub plan.
http://www.bloomberg.com/ss/08/12/1218_shortfall_states/5.htm
Ohio is having just a wonderful time with the repub plan!
Kasich in Ohio has predicted great strides in employment whilst lowing taxes for the rich and the corporations and almost destroying Ohio Unions. (Although, I am getting to like Kasich, so shoot me. Hahahah)
At least Ohio has opened up a road for those without health insurance to receive health insurance for chrissakes. Really, the Governor of Ohio is my only hope as a back up to the election of a repub as President; I mean look at the alternatives.
Pennsylvania is in a mess but the Governor there at least signed a decree allowing free exchange of needles for drug users that just made my jaw drop. I never saw that coming. But Penn has a great debt and it has made an attack upon unions and it has lowered taxes for the rich and the corps and attempts to cut all state
Minnesota has had a greater increase in employment than all three of these states, a greater increase in GNP and Minnesota has yet to call for the poor to piss in bags in order to receive food stamps.
No repub would ever have predicted that Minnesota would beat these three states in all relevant categories.
Minnesota has no debt.
Minnesota has not attacked the unions
Minnesota has not lowered taxes for the rich and the corporations.
http://www.thestatesproject.org/state-debt/
ESPN is not always right, but it is not always wrong.
The repubs are almost ALWAYS WRONG.
Hahahahahahah
I pray for the Twins and the State of Minnesota.
Even though I am Agnostic. Hahahahah
Paul Molitor is a hero of mine but Mark Dayton is my real hero.

WE MUST FIND OUR OWN DINOSAUR OR OTHER PRETEXT TO SAVE OUR DREAMS.
WHAT?
Those who predict in politics never lose!

It is amazing that Republicans can make any claim to fiscal responsibility..

As an aside (and I told Q recently all I have are asides lately) I was off line for twelve hours due to the problems with my Provider?
Provider is a great word isn't it?
This time the problem had nothing to do with HP or Microsoft, but with Mediacom.
And it got me to thinking.
The repubs are the provider party. hahahahah
Think about trickle down and you will understand where I am coming from. hhahah
Have a nice day rmrd.
I always appreciate your comments.

Republicans are fighting among themselves in Florida over Medicaid. They can't balance the budget with out it. 5% of the GDP of Florida comes from the Federal Government handouts and payments. But they are losing a chunk of it because LIP expired. We are headed for a shut down in this state it is going to be interesting. They either have to raise taxes or take Medicaid because the hospitals can not stay open with out being paid for treating patients.
Nice to here from you. You were quiet this week.
by trkingmomoe on Wed, 05/27/2015 - 10:36am
I was off line due to my provider, look at my reply to my other friend.
I get so damned mad at these state governments who attack the poor.
Anyway, I hope you are hanging in there besides the instigation of Skeletor.

I just roll with the punches. I am still optimistic because this overall is not sustainable. I also like the way the issues are being presented for this next election cycle. The fact that there is over 10 people trying to run for the GOP tells me that the only thing that is holding them together is Koch and Co. money. It is like pigs at a troth and they are now fighting among themselves. No more circle the wagons and march in lock step on every little nutty thing.
I am going to be real busy this summer with lots to do around here.

Republican stands on eliminating taxes, going back in to Iraq, privatizing Social Security, loosening regulations on Wall Street, ending birth control and all abortions while cutting aid to poor families.........
Are representative of an ideology that cannot fail...............it can only be failed.

Hell, do you know that I discovered that I am the 'mean' as far as what I receive from SS?
Why in the hell would the bottom 60% let alone the bottom 90% ever vote for these idiots?
And of course, they aint idiots. hahahahah
'They' know exactly what they are doing and they know exactly who are funding them.

by Richard Day on Wed, 05/27/2015 - 5:35pm
I wish I could claim that word as being manufactured by me alone, but I'd be a cheat and a liar if I did! Good gawd! I'd then be a Republican! But, it's a word that's been floating around the state for a while now.
But I digress...Thank you for the award, Mr. Day. I accept it, under false pretenses, but I accept it non-the-less.
by wabby on Wed, 05/27/2015 - 5:46pm
Oh Flower, you are never false.

Happy Birthday, Dick! May 28th is an awesome day for a Day, and especially for Dag's Day!
As a Gemini, you're everything from "communicative and versatile" to "nervous and tense" ... and with all the in-betweens we've got lots of reasons to love you. Don't forget for a second just how special you are - we sure won't!

This is my third try.
Our mutual friend emailed me today.
I laugh, but he was so goddamned mad six? years ago when I used his name. hahahahah
I really never was able to keep other people's birthdays straight, except for my kids.
My son just called me.
It was for legal advice, but he acknowledged me and Precious said:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY POPS!
That was twenty minutes ago.
Ask our friend, I just cannot figure out facebook.
Anyway, I end up with tears every time I hear from yu.
You have a nice day!
THANK YOU.

Thank you for being my friend!
You got me thinking history again.
Oliva was perfect.
And he is going after 400 and the pitchers just began throwing at him.
He was hit so many times and managed to reach 380 or something and that was one great feat.
It was so mean and I do not recall reading that Williams had to go through this.
I love Oliva. And I miss him on the field.

This is June 8, but unless KC beats us, we are number one!
Otherwise we are tied for first.
I have no idea where else to put this.
6th inning and we are losing.
So the worst that can happen is that we are tied for first.
the end

Well, happy belated birthday, Mr. Day! Be on the look out for fossilization setting in. It usually starts in the joints. Not those joints. The other joints. Ok, the other other joints.
by wabby on Sat, 05/30/2015 - 7:41pm
Oh I am late as always. hahahah
Other joints....hahahahahah

Why are kids so drawn to this stuff. hahahahah
But what is, is, and what is not is not.
hahahahahahah
Thinking of this little three year old running around with this plastic dinosaur and then recalling my son worshipping this HULK? hahahahah
That is just the way it is.
