KEENAN ANDERSON death from cardiac arrest at hospital after lots of tasering by the LAPD
There's already lots of agitprop and it's clearly mostly by people who obviously didn't watch a fuller video but the edited version which shows only the tasering. Despite what one may infer from a lot of the agitprop, there was no coverup, the LAPD released the body cam videos right away and the mayor started an investigation right away!
I saw the shorter video soon after the story broke but I'm glad I waited until I found someone posting the longer version and I now believe people who want to flog the "Geo. Floyd II" angle are abusing that. You can see for yourself.
FWIW What I see is not a sane teacher of English who flagged down a cop for a traffic accident, but a lone guy by himself, flagging down a motorcycle cop, the cop is first very nice, but then Anderson is ACTING OFF HIS ROCKER, LIKE HE WAS EITHER MENTALLY ILL OR HIGH AS A KITE AND HAVING A BAD TRIP, agitated and not making sense and when the cop tries to stop him from running into traffic, that's when things quickly escalate.
Clearly to me, the cops overreacted and overused the taser and could definitely handled it in other ways. But what happened is not being presented truthfully by the anti-police provocateurs and I have every faith any jury would see it that way too.
Suffice it to say I am not going to even entertain the arguments of someone who doesn't at least watch this 5 minute longer video, cause basically that would just be wasting time on dishonest agitprop!

^ I don't know if a toxicology report for Keenan Anderson will be made public, that may be private in this situation because he was not breaking the law (until resisting arrest bullshit the cops side will argue, yadda yadda) and he was the one who flagged down an officer, not someone else calling cops on him.
It may be used in any insurance settlement negotiations in private that's for sure!
What I do know: if I was that first cop I would have just let him run away into traffic and get injured or killled and not run after him, because he was acting and talking batshit crazy and clearly didn't want to follow my instructions so I could help.

But LoPinto has only held the (elected) office of Sheriff since 2018. He's a lawyer with a degree from Loyola and also a criminal justice major before that. Prior to being elected to replace Sheriff Newell, he was legal liason to the same as well as having worked as a Narcotics Det. I see Katherine Clark is trying to do damage control by reframing away from those protests to gun violence:
There's this gnarly problem though: taking guns off the streets doesn't just mean making laws, it requires enforcement agents. These things don't happen by just creating a law. She also has to convince lefties like her daughter that police are needed to get guns off the street. If there are to be no cops, everyone and his uncle are going to have guns.

I am reminded of all the outrage about a lone cop taking down a Black guy who was charging at him with *just a knife*. Then there was the lone cop coming upon a vicious cat fight of a group of young black women where one of them had just drawn *just a knife". He accurately shot her to save the others and later I saw the official BLM twitter feed memorialize her as a queen martyr of the Black revolution or some such; he was made the enemy and she was made the victim, even though she was trying to kill other Black women - they made ridiculous narratives up that no sane person would believe a few years before! And too many fell for it! Is it any wonder that recruiting police is a difficult job these days?

I disagree, re: The militarization of American policing has been a disaster
IF the country is going to allow the militarization of the public, including people with outstanding warrants, convicted criminals and nuts who are determined to shoot up grade schools, supermarkets and parades with AR-15's, the public is going to demand not only militarization, but this kind of outcome from militarization, WHICH HAPPENS MORE FREQUENTLY THAN MSM reports
A SWAT team and armored vehicle are on scene, with Fire and EMS staging nearby. Around 11:20 p.m., a male and two female subjects exited the residence and were detained without apparent incident. Clearing the perimeter by around 11:40 p.m.
Police officers are not going to volunteer to be martyrs in this kind of situation! They are going to call in the SWAT team and the armored vehicle! It's just reality!
If you outlaw private ownership of guns, OK, then you can get rid of a lot of the militarization of police. Until then, fuggeaboutit.
Furthermore, even then, in the dense urban areas, it might still be wise to have some kind of militarization. I know the terrorism task force of the NYPD does a way better job of keeping us in NYC safe from terror attacks than the Feds do! I'm glad to pay for that and I want it. My Federal taxes do little to keep me safe, that's just reality!

p.s. on this topic, I think it's important to keep in mind that the "ACAB" meme comes mostly from elite educated woke lefties, many of whom are White.
And poll after poll show that the "minority communities" that the elites claim to be speaking for, their majorities actually support either more police and more funding of them, or keeping it at the same level.
