The administration’s proposed federal budget cuts are, in effect, local budget cuts that ignore the economic realities of the communities that voted for Trump.
Nothing really new here, basically standard GOP playbook.. But those who love the meme of cutting Federal taxes do need to be constantly reminded that their state & local taxes will go up when that happens. It might be hidden in places like sales tax or property tax, and then you'll complain that the paycheck just doesn't seem to stretch as much anymore. (Sometimes I also find it useful to add: do you realize how much a bite of the Federal deductions the Social Security & Medicare tax is?) If people think that state & local can spend the money better than the Feds, that's a rational argument, but thinking that they will get a lot of freed up money "back" is not.
