(My comment: when are we going to just give up on the farce of airline security and give all frequent fliers the air marshal training they need? )

Well, speaking of being on the ground, on a bus or train one has the theoretical choice of trying to jump off, like in the movies (it's a psychological thing, of course, though I suspect many would have no qualms about trying to drive a bus in an emergency)....maybe parachute training for all?
Edit to add- Wouldn't help on one of those wunnerfully run cruise lines, though, there it appears it's survival of those who grab the lifeboats first....
