Conservatives including Republican Presidential candidates and the Republican Governor of South Carolina are accusing Black Lives Matter for setting an atmosphere that encourages attacks on police. The problem is that 2015 is on track to have the lowest for the number of murders of police in years.
Ted Cruz includes President Obama for the threat of violent death facing police officers. The fact is that there were more police officers killed under GW Bush.
We should thank Black Lives Matter for decreasing police homicides (snark)

Bill O'Reilly and Fox News declared Black Lives Matter a hate group with rhetoric causing police murders. O'Reilly has vowed to shut down BLM. Unfortunately for O'Reilly, two criminologists invited on his show so he could bloviate this nonsense find no connect between Black Lives Matter and attacks on police.

A chant of "pigs in a blanket, fry 'em like bacon" does not help any cause. I watched the BLM representative from St. Paul, MN try to justify it as humor - it isn't, it wasn't.
They are giving people like O'Reilly and others fuel, and if they don't get it together soon, they will become more of a problem than a means towards a solution.

The representatives from BLM do look pathetic on television. The gentleman who appeared on "All In" did tell a story that was not believable. Another BLM Minneapolis member appeared on CNN yesterday with Don Lemon. The young man could not tell Lemon what BLM had as its goal . BLM has 26 official chapters, but anyone is free to use the name.

At this point, BLM does not care about its public image. The goal seems to be protest to bring attention to an issue. BLM points out that law enforcement and the judicial system already knows what needs to be done.
BLM may be getting ready to crash and burn or it may reflect the feelings of the people who feel targeted by police. We will see who shows up a future rallies. Remember, the protest was peaceful.
Whether BLM survives will really be up to local communities. No black activist group had the universal support of the white community. Angry whites attacked the brave whites who sided with MLK Jr. Al Sharpton angers many whites. O'Reilly's opposition to BLM was predictable. He is the guy who went to Slyvia's with Al Sharpton and was amazed that black people knew how to use forks and knives.
While BLM gets justifiable criticism, why is the Texas Sheriff who linked BLM to the murder of his deputy under fire? Why is the NYPD union leader who blamed black protesters for the murder of two NYPD officers still in his job? These police officials are placing targets on BLM without proof of a connection between the group and the murders of police officers?
The criticism of BLM without similar condemnation of remarks by police officials may be viewed as bias within the community.

Not a big surprise, but the ex-commissioner of the Baltimore police department admits that officers pulled back on making arrests after the Freddie Gray protests. It seems if you protest against police abuse, they police feel free to take the day off.

Police abuse created BLM. BLM should not call police "pigs". Calling police "pigs" does not justify the police telling the community that the police will not tolerate criticism. The NYPD turned it back on their Mayor. We don't live in a police state. The police actions seem much more egregious to me.

History is instructive, we have to remember that Martin Luther King's peaceful protests were cited as cause of anti-police violence. Blaming protesters is an old trick.

Like I told others, the 'link' thingy does not work, so I always 'link it' with the provided link thingy and therefore give it twice.
But you are correct. Police killings are down, at least viewing the police as victims.
But facts?
Thank you for pointing out the facts, documented.
We need more of this type of reporting.
Thank you.
